“A gem hidden in our favourite place in Turkey”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

We have been travelling for 25 years and have done so extensively in Turkey during that time. Cirali is the only place we have ever returned to in spite of visiting some beautiful places around the world, but this was our first time at Hotel Villa Monte.

Don't be put off by the word 'hotel' if you imagine a vast faceless building with masses of rooms - this is an intimate place with just 8 rooms and a family feel. Sinan and Esin were wonderful hosts and they really have pulled off something special. They seem to have found the perfect balance between being relaxed but attentive, being friendly and welcoming yet not overbearing. We arrived close to midnight but Sinan was kind enough to bring us something to eat (a sandwich would have more than sufficed but instead he brought mezes and glasses of wine!). This first act of kindness was to be something that was reflected by all we encountered throughout our stay.

There were just two of us but we had a family room because the standard rooms were fully booked. It was exceptionally clean and really spacious with a nice large shower and all the facilities you would need. Although equipped with aircon we didn't need it even though the temperature was climbing as the room kept nice and cool. The breakfasts are fantastic with a great range of Turkish staples but also with the variety of a couple of freshly cooked dishes such as pancakes or Turkish omelette or something similar. We also opted to eat there most evenings were you can choose from a couple of options from a set menu consisting of mezes, main and dessert. The food was really well cooked and it compared well to anywhere else we've eaten at in Cirali. It was still nice to eat out on a couple of occasions in one of the local restaurants facing the sea for a change of scenery, but in terms of quality of food and value for money Villa Monte is a great choice. They have a small but decent wine list with local wines and of course beer or soft drinks. Again the ethos that Esin and Sinan have brought this place was reflected in the friendly good nature of the young woman who served us at breakfast and in the evenings.

Cirali is a beautiful place where you really feel like you are leaving the stresses of the world behind. As you seemingly drive for an age to leave the sprawl of Antalya behind, when you finally depart the highway and wind your way down through a stunning mountain backdrop for 7 kilometres your tensions lift and before you is a stunning bay with a long beach where I'm sure you could find a quiet spot even on the busiest of days. Villa Monte is a short 3 minute walk back from the beach, but it's a very pleasant one through citrus groves with free roaming chickens. We were extremely fortunate to have a dolphin swim into the bay close to the beach on one of our days. It came and went three times that day and stayed with my wife and I for over an hour on the third visit letting us stroke it's belly whilst it played a few games with us. We cant expect to have that opportunity again but it was a special moment in a special place.

I do believe that Cirali will remain unspoilt and we left knowing that we will be back. We can thoroughly recommend Hotel Villa Monte to you and warmly commend our hosts and their small team for being so welcoming to us as guests and then bidding us farewell in the manner of friends. An exceptional place run by a lovely couple.

We (3 travellers) stayed four nights in this little gem after a week of intensive travelling through Cappadocia and adjacent areas in Turkey. The rooms are quite spacious, clean and in good shape and the garden invites you to relax and enjoy a cold Efes (or çay, if you prefer). Sinan and his team make your stay a very pleasant experience. Always friendly they will accommodate your wishes with a smile. We will come back and recommend the place.

We stayed six days and the staff and locals were very kind and generous. The neighbor’s rooster wakes you up in the morning!

Sinan and his staff were extremely helpful and friendly. He has a wealth of information about the nearby ruins and local activities and will help coordinate these side trips. Sinan arranged a boat tour which was a true high point of our trip.

The staff serves a delightful and varied breakfast and dinner on the charming grounds of the hotel. Cirali is a quiet laid back village this time of year (as compare to Olympos). Great place to stay for couple and families.

We stayed for 4 nights as part of 2 weeks of independent travel around Turkey and had a great stay at Villa Monte. The staff were really friendly, the breakfasts were great and the hotel was great value for money. Our room had a balcony which was good as the weather was a little mixed during our visit. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Cirali. The family who run the hotel and the rest of the staff really make this a great place to stay. Thanks

We discovered Villa Monte on Trip Advisor and were so glad to have found them and Cirali as well. The village is 7 kilometers off the main road, has a lovely beach lined with restaurants and free umbrellas and chairs. Like other reviewers, we found Villa Monte a charming, verdant relaxing haven. Owners Sinan and Esin are gracious, generous and attentive hosts. They offer huge, home cooked breakfasts in a covered garden dining area and their chef is a young, talented man who serves reasonably priced dinners. Our room was clean, spacious and our balcony overlooked a tropical-like garden of trees and plants. The other guests became dining companions and we chatted late into the evening. When we left, early one morning Esin an d the staff stood under umbrellas in the rain to wish us a safe journey.

The Hotel Villa Monte is a beautiful house in a quiet part of Cirali, within easy walking distance of the centre of the village and the beach. The garden is a lovely oasis of calm, where you can enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee at any time of the day. The breakfast is plentiful and there is always a home made treat to supplement the standard fare. I also had dinner there - a tasty and reasonably priced home-cooked meal. The rooms are fitted out to a very high standard and most (possibly all?) have their own terrace. But the winning feature of this hotel has to be the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and their "extended family" staff, which must be second to none. If I ever do return to Cirali it would be to go back to the Villa Monte, rather than just return to Cirali itself.

Our second time in Cirali at Hotel Villa Monte and we never thought it possible but it was even better than our first visit. Owners Esen and Sinan, and all of their staff (who are more like their family), go out of their way to make sure their guests are 100% happy 100% of the time. Very clean and comfortable accommodation, exciting breakfasts, and incredibly good dinners (The best place to eat in Cirali as well). Probably why this place is rated so highly.
