We found this hotel more than adequate for our needs. The restaurant had good food and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sighisoara has fewer restaurant options for the tourist than one would expect for a town of over 26,000 people. We found the people welcoming and friendly. We wee there in September 2011, the cusp of the tourist season.

Room Tip: I suspect all the rooms are really nice.

The pension is in the citadel of Sighisoara. The room was very clean and confortable so we could sleep very well.
The main atractions are very very near(1,2 minutes far away)
The stuff was very polite and nice to us. Dinner was also very good.
I recomand Pizza and Vlad Dracu"s Plate . Breakfast was served on the terrace - we could admire the whole citadel from there.

We are about to check out of here and wanted to share our experience first.

We booked a room at San Gennaro through TripAdvisor, but mistakenly came to this pensiunea in the citadel walls instead of their partner establishment "downtown". We arrived late in the evening and somehow found parking (although there's no hotel parking available), and they still let us stay in one of their rooms, as it was vacant. The welcome was very nice overall.

We stayed on the 3rd (top) floor in a double room (#3) and slept very well in their beds. The room and en-suite bathroom were also very clean - no complaints there.

In retrospect, though, we were both exhausted and probably would have slept well anywhere. The room was on top of the terrace and there was music and loud chatter until about 1 in the morning (maybe later, but that's when we fell asleep), and then again at about 7-8 in the morning. Also, in 30C weather, there were no fans or A/C, so closing the windows was not an option.

Breakfast was meant to be included in the room rate, so we decided to eat here in the back terrace (although there seem to be much nicer options nearby). The terrace itself is lovely for eating - a very nice setting. The selection for breakfast was very poor - basically just different omelettes and a coffee. We ordered cappuccinos which were powdered and microwaved and the "fresh orange juice" was noticeably watered down and half the size indicated on the menu. We had to ask 3 times for butter. There was no salt and pepper. The bread was not toasted. In the end, we were highly dissatisfied.

Room Tip: If you need a good night's sleep, avoid staying over the terrace, although I'm not sure how quiet the other side will be over the citadel square.

Actually, we came here for lunch. The annual medieval festival was ongoing, we were hungry after walking on the crowdy streets of Sighisoara, so we found ourselves lucky to get a free table here. The "pizzeria" is located dead central, just in the main square of the citadel, but we got the table on the terrace located in an internal courtyard, hidden from the noise of the street.
On the way to our seats we've noticed that pizza is cooked in a traditional stone oven, which is working on wood. Both, the restaurant and the terrace were pretty furbished with a lot of nice details. I liked the old pattern of the walls with the exposed old bricks. There were funny and "chic" decorations all around, antique furnitures, dry flowers, a lot of painted wood and stone, but nothing kitschy or tasteless.
The menu list was not large. We've ordered pizza and salads. The pizza was prepared in the Italian way, with a thin layer (which I liked). It was very tasty. The surprise was a traditional desert named "lichiu" - a kind of a cake with some plumes and cinnamon topping (it was a pure delight). The coffee was good and so it was the lemonade.
Local draught beer is also available.
I disliked the pasta (I have ordered "spaghetti putanesca"). It was not "al dente" at all, I can prepare it much better.
However, it was a tasty lunch overall and the bill was more than acceptable.
I would recommend this pizzeria to anyone of my friends.
