“Romantic accommodation in Sighisoara”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

First of all, you can't beat the location and the view! Secondly, the kind personnel and the owners have put a lot of work and soul into adding an 'ancient' feel to this place! And they succeeded! A bit more attention to details could really turn this guesthouse into a hidden gem!

Room Tip: All rooms are great and very colourful, but my favourite remains the one in the attic with a bathtub...

Colourful and kitchy, but nonetheless comfortable rooms with classic shutter windows overlooking the town. At night, as the fog crawls over the terracotta tiled roofs, it's a spooky sight - just what you want from a small-town Romanian stay.

The breakfast is limited to hearty European options - think toasted (slightly dry) white bread, meat, cheese, maybe tomato. A bit hardcore if you're a stickler for your morning dairy. But the service is lovely and the location is perfect. An enjoyable stay, highly recommended.

I have stayed here for just one night. It is very simply and the hotelier lady was very nice. We liked the breakfast verym uch. The only thing which we did not like was the stairs. Difficult to carry luggages!! And the reception is bit dark and should be refurbished though keeping same style.

This B&B was delightful, though the breakfast was a little sub-par (toast/bread in the sandwiches was a little soggy every time). It was located a few hundred meters down the street from the clock tower. Initially, we parked in the public lot just below the old High Town, but after checking in, the hotelier showed us where to park on the narrow street right outside the hotel. Many restaurants, shops, and all the major Sighisoara sights were located within easy walking distance. The B&B itself was in a historic old building with narrow, steep stair cases, and odd-sized, character-full rooms that featured relatively modern bathrooms and neat views of the town. We would likely stay here again if we returned to Sighisoara!

Room Tip: The top-floor rooms, while a little difficult to climb to with heavy luggage, offered great views of...

Pension Citadela has a lot of good things going for it. First of all, it is located in the historic city walls of Sighisoara, just under the clock tower. In fact, our room had a very nice view of the clock tower, but we had to stick our head out of the window to see it. It is located on a small quiet street in a very old, historic building and has an incredible charm to it as soon as you walk in. The place feels homy and the staff were very pleasant and willing to help with our huge luggage. Our room was on the top floor with very steep stairs. I recommend for you to not bring heavy luggage as we did. Ours was so heavy that we had to leave it downstairs in their storage room and just take with us what we needed for our stay. Our room was at the very top, it was an attic at some point and so it had slanted walls, which we were not used to and were always afraid to hit our heads on. It's only a minor negative, the room together with the view made our stay incredibly worthwhile. The whole place and our room were clean and it was pretty quiet. We never heard other guests or anybody outside. Their internet wifi had a very poor signal and so in order to use the internet, we had to connect to a nearby business' wifi. The batteries in TV remote control needed a replacement and we just decided to not even bother with it during our stay. The included breakfast is delicious and filling, but very limited (we had a selection of 4 sandwiches) and if you're not into sandwiches, then you're out of luck.

Overall, the location is just perfect, accommodations very good and hospitality excellent, combined with the pension's charm makes this a perfect stay. Just don't bring your heavy/big luggage and be careful with those steep stairs!

One more tidbit that we liked about this place: at night they turn on a strip of what looks like Christmas lights to help you locate the pension on this small, dark street with no street lights. We appreciated this smart detail. Thank you Pension Citadela - we will be back in the future!

Pension Citadela is right in the thick of the action! it is on the door step of the historic Citael and the many restaurants within. The room we stayed in was lovely and spotless, the shower was amazing! and it had a great view over all Sighisoara; especially the clock tower. The Pension is very good value for money and Breakfast is included in the price (although this could be improved upon). We were made to feel very welcome by the receptionist (possibly owner!). There is also a computer for checking e-mails etc available to guests free of charge.

My husband and I stayed here for a night in October 2011. We loved the room, in my book it had the best view of the city. The room was rather small but enough.

The location of the pension is amazing and very close to the entrance in the old city of Sighisioara. It's near the clock tower witch we recommend for visitation.

Breakfast was ok, enough to start the day in a good mood

Room Tip: My only recommendation is to ask for a room with a view. And if you don't travel with your own c...
