My husband and I stayed here for two nights and paid for an extra night so that we could be guaranteed a check-in on arrival by the early morning train from Hanoi and also we were able to keep the room until our mini-van pick-up at 5:00 pm on our departure day. Well worth the price of the extra night. The hotel arranged our train tickets to and from Loa Cai, mini-van transfer to and from Sapa and a private trek to three minority ethnic villages. All went smoothly.

Breakfast was good and our room very comfortable. A space heater and a heating pad on the mattress were much appreciated. The Manager 'Hang' was very efficient and helpful and her suggestions for places to eat were very good. She is a wealth of knowledge about things to see and do in Sapa.

A highlight of our stay in Sapa was the guide 'Chi" who was provided by the hotel for our private trek to three villages - Lao Chai, Ta Van and Dzan Ta Chai. Chi is a Black Hmong and she took my husband and me off the main trekking road so that we did most of the trek up in the hills, stopping at her Mom's house where we had a visit, her brother's place to see an elaborate Shaman shrine and a lovely spot for lunch where we were the only tourists. We were also given some information about Black Hmong customs and rituals. This was an excellent experience which I highly recommend.

so glad we stayed at this hotel (for 2 nights in November 2009)
the hotel arranged pick up from LoiCai station, i recommend you get thisas the journey upto Sapa takes a while. We arrived at the hotel and the young girl on reception ushered us into the lobby and pushed us to the fire to get warm, after we had tea we ordered breakfast (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, baguettes, ham, ham cheese, bananas, butter and jam tea and coffee) we were shown to our room and after quickly unpacking we cme down for breakfast... very good value very good value indeed.
the staff are really nice and helpful, nothing is too much trouble - our room was cold so we were given electric blanket and extra duvets!(without asking) bliss! we didnt want to move.
i would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in SAPA.
Staff charming, funny and helpful.

There is nothing wrong with the hotel itself, nor is there anything fabulous. It is just fine. Just plain 'ol average. I would tell my friends about this place, but I don't think I would necessarily say that they HAVE to stay at this place. You get what you pay for and this is inexpensive. I liked the location quite a bit - up a hill, away from the central shopping areas of town.
Lobby looks newer and re-done. The staff was really nice and accommodating! Even when we arrived at 6am and woke them up! :)
On the other hand, the room left something to be desired. The beds were okay - not too bad. The bathroom was okay, but the towels seemed dirty and a bit stained. The sheets seemed clean for the most part....The floor felt a little grimy. The bathtub shower head was a bit funky too. The small TV in the room only showed a couple local stations (not that I care).
Also, all day and night, there was this noise. I think it was their washing machine - that's kind of what it sounded like....we were able to hear it from our bed. But, it did stop at 11pm....only to resume again at 6am.
Overall, it was okay. If I went back to Sapa, I would probably seek out another hotel though....

we stayed here just recently. This hotel is fine. The view is not exactly what we expected.
Room 204 and 304 are not bad. You're looking out on the steps in front going up to the look-out point.Good to watch people going up the steps.
The balcony wasn't very easy accessible as you had to climb a little wall to get on the balcony.
The rooms were very clean and had free coffee, electric blanket, hot water boiler.
The staff also was exceptional friendly.

Set close to the church grounds and at the entrance to the Dragon Jaw Park, this small hotel is a little off the main drag and well placed to give visitors an interesting birds' eye view of local Sapa daily life. Ask for for a front balcony room to enjoy these activities. Location is quiet at night.

Our day to day contact with the desk staff was delightful, and Thai Binh's day manager, the charming and helpful Ms Hung made our 2 day stay most enjoyable. We booked directly with the hotel and all emails were answered very promptly. We used their (free) minibus service for transport to and from railway station.

My one suggestion would be for management to install a cable TV service. Night falls quickly in Sapa. There is no Guest Lounge so you will be in your room after your evening meal.

We stayed at Thai Binh Hotel for 2 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our room was very nice, clean and spacious. The breakfast served was very pleasant. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. Hang, the receptionist was very friendly and spoke good English. Nam, the owner made recommendations for a nice place to have dinner in town.

They organised a one-day trek for us with a lovely and knowledgeable guide called Chi, from the local H'Mong community. She had quite a good command of English.
The hotel has free internet access for guests and situated in a very good location.
Although our first day was very foggy, we didn't regret coming to Sapa because the hotel staff did their best to make our stay unforgettable.

We will definitely visit the hotel again if ever we come back to Sapa.
