“Nice and cosy hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2013 via mobile

We just spend to nights at Sapa Queen Palace Hotel. First of all, we enjoyed the very cosy and familar atmosphere with a lot of well-prepared and taste food and somehow it was always ready when we were ready. The staff was very friendly and service-minded and our host was very concerned about our well-being. Thye prepared some good sightseeing tours. The best one was through the nearby villages. The weather was not on our side, so we had to spend more time on the room than we expected. The room became very cold and there was no good heating. Big room, though, nice bed and hot water in the shower.

After roughing it in northern Laos and 2 long days on the bus from Phongsali, I was ready to pamper myself in Sapa (without breaking the bank)

The room I got at Queen Palace blew my mind. Huge comfy bed. Beautiful view of the mountains out the huge windows. Nice bathroom with decent hot water/pressure. Amenities such as: working fireplace, hot water kettle, TV with HBO, hair dryer, heated blanket on the bed, daily room cleanings...

All this amazingly fit neatly in my (quite modest) budget.

The brothers that run the front desk are super nice and helpful. Just ask. They also organized a private 1-day trek up (and down) Mt FanSiPan that was half as cheap as anyone else quoted me.

Nice location, in the midst of all the restaurants and quite near the market, where you can find some delicious pho.

Room Tip: Higher up rooms will have a better view. During the week they may be willing to bargain. IE fancy ro...

The hotel is in a very good location right near the restaurants and on the main thoroughafare to the nearby villages. We stayed in the cheapest room in the hotel. For £7 a night we got a double bed, hair-dryer, kettle and toiletries. The bedroom was not much bigger than the bathroom. The bed is very clean and has a memory foam mattress. The room itself is very basic and sparsely decorated, which is fine. As we stayed here in the cold season we did expect an electric blanket or heater in the room but the heater is extra. We asked for more blankets and were swiftly given an extra duvet.

We did think breakfast was included but in reality our room was too cheap to have this in the price. Nearby places have a better breakfast for the same price of $3.

The person on the main desk is very helpful and friendly. All the staff do what they can to make you feel comfortable and the rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries. For £7 a night it fits the bill but if you want something more than your basic needs being fulfilled you may want to pay more or stay somewhere a little bit more upmarket.

A note for any less able travellers this place is not suited for those who cannot climb stairs. Our room was on the fourth floor out of five. The stairs are narrow and open to the elements.

It one of the hotel in the busiest part of the City. However, it looks like the hotel requires a good refubrishing. The waredrobe mirror was broken but Was not replace, when i tried Closing It the mirror felled off and sketchered on the flor, luckily It does not cut my foot. Hot water Was not available at times. However the staff Services were exceptionally good.

This hostel is has a really good location, really close to market and the church. The rooms are clean, as the toilets and the showers (hot water). The breakfast was really good, and the staff was really friendly and helpful, the owner brought me two times on his motorbike for free when I needed help. I really enjoyed my stay!

Excellent service. Located on the main street where all the markets and restaurants are.
Cuong the owner had bought the place 2 weeks prior to my stay so he was fixing things and installing better WiFi so you could have a connection in the rooms. Cuong came and picked me up from the bus station for free, which was really handy as the heckling from the locals was bad getting off the bus in sapa. He even upgraded my room from a dorm bed to a twin for no extra charge because I made some friends on the bus and suggested they stay where I had booked.
Cuong's family who also help run the place, are all friendly and willing to help or suggest things to do. The tour service they run is also very informative and really not pushy to try and sell. I bought a bus ticket which left in the evening, so I was allowed a late checkout, and the use of a room to shower at about 7pm just before leaving.
He has plans to upgrade the restaurant that's downstairs for the guests, and run the bar that the previous owners had just left unused. I only had breakfast here and it was a bit different each day, depending on what they could buy, but was delicious. Bacon, eggs, baguette, tons of fruit, and coffee. I did see a massive lunch come out with lots of food which the people couldn't finish, local food too.
I definitely recommend a stay here.
Rooms are cleaned daily, hot water, hot water jug, no need for air-con sapa is nice and cool, I also had a great view of the town and a big open window.
