I stayed in Chau Long on 4 days and the hotel was quite great to me. The room was nice, facing the very beautiful mountain range. Before going to Sapa, i was nervous as many people said the weather was very tough and hotels in Sapa would not provide good facilities to keep warm as well as hot baths. But in CHau Long, the room was so cozy as well as hot water available in the best conditions. The room is very clean and even we made the room very untidy, it was always very tidy the day after when the room service was made. I did not eat much in Chau Long Hotel but the breakfast buffet was acceptable. The staff was nice and very helpful giving us tips and guidelines for travelling around Sapa. Before we left, they also asked us if we needed their help in arranging shuttle bus to travel back to Lao Cai.

If i get a chance to come back to Sapa, Chau Long is still my first choice. And talking about Sapa, Chau Long is my first recommendation to my friends as I had a very memorable trip in Sapa where CHau Long was a part of.

In fact, you could know the name of this hotel quite famous in Sapa before coming to stay but I am sure you sometimes not feel worth to your spendings while staying here.
For me, I vote and appreciate the view of the hotel, it's located by the edge of the hill towarding to Fanxinpan Mount. In the morning from your room window, in case your room at good position, you can see very beautiful valley and mountain and clouds wandering. In contrast to its view, I commend the service and quality of the hotel not really worth to money spent because of some causes as follows:
1. About reception: Receptionists are not well-trained, eventually basically. Most of them have the average skill of English. This is really important for reception job.
2. About the room: Not really clean and bad smell sometimes.
3. About Restaurant: Food is not really cooked well as commended by valued customers because in fact their chef's name is nameless.
4. Facilities: Not really well-equiped.
5. Services: Slow and unprofessional in truth.
However; Chau Long hotel has a system of good and nice staff. They can become great staff if trained well.
Wish you more developing in the future!

This hotel was more than adequate and one of the best in town.

Pros:
-- unforgettable panoramic view
-- nice ambiance
-- WIFI in lobby and free Internet in bar
-- good location
-- probably one of the best hotels in Sapa

Cons:
-- not too friendly
-- uncomfortable bed
-- aging decor
-- no security lock on our room door, nor on balcony door. No room safebox.
-- only one door key provided
-- no complementary water (which is usual in Vietnam hotels)
-- dirty water in sink taps (best to use bottled water for brushing teeth)
-- broken hairdryer, threadbare towels, poor shower, noisy minibar
-- smelly internet centre in smoke filled bar

Even so, I would still recommend this hotel for a short stay.
