First of all the service here is unreal. They will help you in anyway possible for example I came and needed a place to stay. They didn't have any singles left but they set me up with my own room for $5. The rooms are clean and I slept like a dream.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in early January. Location was excellent on the main strip. The rooms were nice, secure and clean and also equipped with electric blankets to cope with the cold nights. They were also serviced daily and provided fresh towels. The restaurant surpisingly served the best food we had in Sapa - fresh, tasty, good variety and cheap. Best of all was their hospitality shown by the day manager and his off-sider (young lad wearing specs). From day one til the end they made sure we were well looked after. We arrived very early on the first day having taken the overnight train and they organised a spare room for us to rest and freshen up at no charge. We booked our tour to the Bac Ha market and trek with the Hmong people through them which were both great and a good price. After we'd come back from our day we were always greeted with smiles and a nice warm cup of Sapa tea on the house. On the last day we got back from our trek an hour before we had to leave and they were generous enough to allow us to shower in the room they lived in so we'd be fresh for the train ride home. Never in our travels had we experienced such care when it came to accommodation. This is the first trip advisor review I've done because I reckon this place is worth it! It was sad to leave this place really because of the staff. We recommended this place to everyone.

We stayed at the Elysian in late December and it was 3 degrees celsius, when we checked in we asked for heaters for our rooms which were damp and cold and we were told by one of the guys who works there that electricity is expensive but after agreeing to pay $3 usd a night we were given a small heat lamp for one of our 2 rooms that kind of worked if you all crowded around it. The beds all have electric blankets which made for a warm nights sleep. The lobby / restaurant felt a little like a boys club with staff lounging around all day.
On a positive note the hotel is in a good location and I'm sure if the weather had been clear it would have good views over the valley.
The rooms on the mountain side are quiet.
Tony was a very nice host and was fabulous with correspondence and arranging train tickets and transfers.

This is definitely a summer season hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Mountain side are quieter.

This hotel was fantastic. The customer service was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and even provided us with a room to stay in for a short 1 hour period because we arrived before check in. The breakfast and dinner food was very nice and whenever we were sitting in the lobby, one of the staff members gave us some of their "Sapa Tea", which was very nice. The main person of service who checks you in whose name is Luan is a very nice person and so too is the owner Tony. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was nice. The rooms had cable TV, free bottled water and coffee. The beds had electric blankets for the cold weather in Sapa and there was a closet to place any jackets if need be. Overall this hotel was fantastic. Great service, great food, great rooms and great staff.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the mountains, or a room near the balcony where you can view from, trus...

We stayed at the deluxe room up top, the view was just crazy. Service and staff were great. The room was nice and clean.
When we were there, there was a lot of snow so it was very cold. We were provided a fan sized heater which didn't really warm up in the big room. But it was unusual to be that cold so we could understand they didn't have heater installed in the room. We had an electric blanket so it was warm in bed.
The balcony up top wasn't private so it was a little awkward when we were in the room, tried to get the sun in and people went to the balcony and could see us in the room. But the view from the balcony was really worth some privacy infringement.
Great hotel to stay in Sapa.
