“Best little hotel in sapa”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

We picked this hotel after good reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. First of all the hotel. Well located on road out of town to walk to cat cat village but also adjacent to the main shopping and eating streets. The lake and square are only about 5 to 10 minutes walk . Our room was 508, over looking the most beautiful view, little vegetable gardens and the valley stretching in the distance surrounded by magnificent mountains. Bed fine, linen good quality, tv, heating easy to control and an electric blanket! Bathroom had good shower, plenty of hot water. Breakfast buffet style, good choice.
Viet and nam were great help, perfect gentlemen , knowledgeable ,helpful . We booked a day trek thru them and had a guide called Hoan who was amazing. We walked to two villages thru beautiful scenery. About 6 hours gentle walking.
We also arranged transfer from the train though them. Excellent.pickup.
We were greeted with hot honey and ginger drink and they have us a packed lunch to take with us for the overnight train.i nearly forgot, each night they brought us supper to the room. Fried bananas and honey and pineapple and chocolate sauce.
You won't regret it!

Room Tip: Ask for valley view.

Sure the rooms & the views were exceptional, but I was most impressed about Viet & Nam who were so kind & helpful. We had 2 sick family members(the altitude sickness)& Viet & Nam looked after them while we were away trekking & etc. We had great hotels throughout Vietnam, but none of the hotels were as personal as this one. Also their drivers, other staff & tour guide were excellent. Can't thank them enough.

The young men who run this place - Viet and Nam - are extremely professional, warm and hardworking. They responded to every email I sent with queries immediately, booked our excellent ride to and from Lao Cai train station to Unique hotel, and also gave us tips about treking on our own down to Cat Cat village. We asked them about doing a trek farther out another day and they were very accommodating - figuring out what we wanted to see/do and booking a terrific guide - John - and driver for us. We loved out outing.

Our rooms in the hotel were basic but nice - everything we needed. We had a balcony with a beautiful view and the hotel is very centrally located. One of the things I appreciated the most was how well the heating system works - the time of year we were there can be quite cold and it was so nice to have a cozy room.

We took the cooking class the first night we were there. it was fun - we just made spring rolls which is pretty simple. They tasted very good though and we enjoyed the communal time with the staff and some other tourists.

We would definitely return to Unique if we go back to Sapa someday.

The staff was really cheerfull and kind. The hotel owner arranged everything for us, tours, shuttle to the train station. The view is awesome and the location is perfect, near to the main street but far enough to be in a quiet place.

Excellent hotel, excellent people with heart warming services!!! Highly recommended hotel!!! I am 100% agree with all the excellent comments here. So I would just share a little story that happened to me and my friends. The morning b4 our trekking journey, Viet, the boss chit chat with us when we having breakfast and we just casually saying that not sure if the food in the village suitable for us. And yet Viet is thoughtful enough that he specially arrange a simple picnic lunch for us when we having lunch in Lao Cai village. As he had observed that we especially like omelette and toasted French bread with cheese during our breakfast. Another reason for him to make that simple lunch arrangement is caused we will need to have early dinner in order to catch our night train back to Hanoi. Viet is such a caring person. He and his team make our 1st visit to Sapa a perfect trip.

Great bosses of Sapa Unique hotel with great chef and great tour guide. The handsome chef cook very nice foods and John, our tour guide, very patient & experience and speak good English. We were very well taken care of throughout the whole trip.

I will definitely stay with Sapa Unique Hotel again!!

Room Tip: Everything is perfect !!!

My friend and I took an overnight train to Sapa. The train was delayed, and we were picked up and transferred to the hotel. The hotel is very cosy, and they had fruits (banana, oranges) and sweets at the waiting area. I love their oranges, fresh and sweet, and I always enjoying them. the oranges were refilled every now and then.
As our room is not ready (we arrived about 9am), we were bought to the cafe to enjoy the FREE breakfast while waiting! Excellent service provided. It was very nice to have a nice BF buffet after an overnight train from Hanoi.
The room was ready just before we finish our BF. The room is hugh, with a balcony and great views. My friend like the bed but I find it too hard to my liking. Everything is clean and they provide free water, coffee/tea and fruits in the room.
The bosses and staffs/family members are sweet and nice.Oh ya, they have very good WIFI in the hotel. Strong signal and free.
We checked out on the 2nd day and went to the a 2D1N trekking trip, and when we are back from the trekking, they prepared a room for us to rest and clean up (at no cost!)
to my surprise, they passed us a bag of food (a very big long baguette with egg, banana, and water) before we left for the train. This is the best hotel I had ever stayed. If I am going back to sapa, I will come back. And I recommend EVERYONE to stay in Sapa Unique Hotel .

We've stayed in Sapa in January 2014. We were offered a beautiful and clean room with a fantastic view over the valley. The breakfast is good and there even was a free (mini) cooking class. The hotelowners were very friendly and helpful; they gave us plenty of information about the surroundings and provided us with a great guide for a half day hike. When we left for the night train they even surprised us with breakfast for the next morning. Very much recommended.
