We booked this hotel for the final leg of our honey moon and was disappointed in the standard of accommodation, food and staff attentiveness. We paid high end prices for a special treat, the cost is triple the amount of other hotels in the area but the rooms were basic and the bathroom very dated, there wasn't even a shower, just an extension over the bath that dribbled water. The breakfast was very average. I was also disappointed that I advised them before we arrived that is was our honeymoon and they did nothing to acknowledge this. The hotel is set at the top of a hill with nice views but there are other hotels up the same hill for a lot less.

Dear spav101,

Thank you very much for your feedback and the time spent to review us on TripAdvisor.
It is with disappointment that we read our service could not reach your level of expectations. We note well your point and will work with our Team to improve, could you give me your name in private message in order to investigate regarding your meals in the hotel and feedback to our Chef, as well as where your reservation originated, and see where the lack of communication came from, regarding your honeymoon set up. We always try the best and listen to our guests, aiming to improve our services.
Our breakfast is as well Western as Asian and offers a large choice of local and more classic options.
Looking forward to get your feedback, we hope your adventure in Vietnam was great.

Best regards

Our deluxe room (number 217) was fairly small and the same size as a standard room but with a better view from the balcony. It was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel is not new and in parts it is beginning to look its age – more modern hotels would undoubtedly have larger rooms and bathrooms. There is a fan rather than A/C, which is fine given the temperature during our stay, but it could probably be an issue in hotter weather.
The service was excellent and friendly. Unusually we ate in on each of our three nights, partly because the local restaurants did not really inspire. Also unusually we opted on two nights for Western food as a change and it was very good – the Australian steaks were particularly good. Strangely our one Vietnamese meal was disappointing, in particular a spring roll starter that was awful. The dining room is large – breakfast buffet was very good – but it lacked atmosphere.
While in Sapa we did one long and one short walk with our guide who was, as with all the guides, very helpful and good at explaining the local culture. The area had many ethnic minority peoples and we visited a couple of homes on our walks.
Tourists seem to be hassled more in Sapa by locals trying to sell things than anywhere else we visited. You are followed by Black H’Mong women with baskets who will walk alongside you for some miles expecting that at some point you will buy something. If you are really firm you can get them to leave you alone but it isn’t easy!

Dear nka5355,

Thank you for staying with us and taking time to review us and share your experience.
We are delighted to read you could appreciate our Chef’s cuisine, and we reported to him about your spring roll experience, training review program has been planned.
At the moment in June, Sapa is very calm and this is certainly, as the month of April, a particularly good time to travel here, as the rice is growing profusely in all the surrounding valleys.
Looking forward to welcome you again, should you not hesitate to contact us for any assistance into organizing your next adventure in Vietnam, and furthermore in Indochina.

Best regards

stayed here for a night as part of a package tour. price was a little steeper than the other hotels available in sapa town, but the price difference is worth it! service was impeccable and breakfast was the best we had in our entire vietnam trip. will def recommend this hotel to anyone going to sapa town! wished we stayed longer to use their pool and spa facilities.

A very lovely experience with Victoria. Located on the top overlooking the valley of the mountainous region of Sapa, the view was simply breathtaking. The excellent service and hospitality made my stay an awesome one. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Definitely a recommendation although the price is a little steeper than the other hotels around but it was worth every single cent

I'm not crazy much about the room but the hotel is located on a nice spot - on the hill look over an area of the town. It seems Victoria is good at choosing their locations. The garden is very beautiful and the rooms are surrounded the garden. The lounge is very relaxing with fireplace and warm color decoration, the cocktails was amazing. The restaurant is simple but charming, in day time, you can sit by the windows and enjoy the fresh air while having breakfast. We had dinner at the restaurant one night, there were only 2-3 tables in the big room so it felt kinda "empty" and "weird". We wish there were more people dining there. The food was very good but for the price, you can go out and eat at other restaurants for much less, it's not that we don't like it either recommend it. It's just the feeling that eating in an empty (expensive) restaurant isn't fun at all.

Dear Annie S,

Thank you very much for choosing the Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa, and sharing your experience with the online community.
We hope you enjoyed the happy hour time and we are glad to read you tasted our cocktail selection.
Indeed, during your stay the hotel was not very busy, and we all could have a low season feeling; fortunately our Chef and his brigade are always delighting our taste buds with local and fusion delicacies.
We would be more than happy to welcome you again, for your next adventure in Tonkin Alps.
Best regards
