“Pleasant old style Vietnamese architecture high in the hills”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

Enjoyed two nights at this quaint Hotel. Lots of lovely dark wood with flowerpots around the courtyards. Had a Delux room with balcony. Bathrooms a bit tired but this hotel is very clean and well run. Friendly staff with a good trip taken around the Sapa rice growing region with local tribes. Took a 90 min massage experience which is pricey on local standards but well trained staff and lovely surroundings. Worth the experience. Looks like the best Hotel in this area.

Room Tip: Loved the views from the first flood overlooking the mountains.

Dear Jude W,

Thank you very much for your kind comment.
Our wood and stone chalet designed resort fits in the environment of this mountainous area, the Tonkin Alps. Sapa is as well a unique destination throughout Vietnam, by the originality of the local people and the stunning views.
Our relaxed Spa facility and local/western influenced cuisine will be a plus and add on our guests experience, especially after spending a day exploring the surroundings.
We will be more than happy to host you again in Victoria Sapa Resort and Spa,

We had a Nice time in this hotel in sapa, good location with just a fem minutts from town. We liked very much the pool and spa which we used after the day hikes in the lovet suroundings.
We see a little aging in the rooms and balcony. Also in the pool some tiles were not in good shape.
We used the restaurant also and it had good quality fond and service. The price we payed Was the highest in our holdt so far. But location, location, location. Victoria sapa, keep on the good work, and remember at renovasion sometimes needs to keep up the feeling. ;-)
I Would definitly comeback if ever in sapa again!

Room Tip: You can,t go wrong here.

Dear BergenRoy,

It is a great pleasure to read your experience feedback, and a deep satisfaction to read your five star rating on our service, cleanliness and location.
Renovation plans are part of our target for the near future, and a new bathroom design is on the way. Located in one of the highest spot in the Tonkin Alps with the view and access the great Mount Fansipan, Sapa and its picturesque surroundings remain a memorable stop to include into our guest Vietnam experience. Our Spa offers high quality and professional treatments and massages and is a must try after a day exploring the area.
Wishing to welcome you again in the Tonkin mountains,

Sitting just above Sapa, Victoria Sapa Resort is the perfect base to rest and real in modest luxury after a hard day trekking through this fabulous region. A short walk down the hill takes you to the restaurants and shops, and onto the streets with their markets and, ultimately, the start of the hill treks.
The pool and spa were superb, though a short walk up a steep hill from the actual resort. Service was superb, the breakfast great, though the dinner in the same restaurant was a big disappointment. Rooms are a reasonable size, but are showing their age, especially the bathrooms which are in need of a makeover. And don't be fooled by the website photos - the grounds are very modest, and this place is not, as it appears, in the country outside the town, but is in fact right smack in the middle of it.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the village, which can attract a fair bit of the endless noise of motorcycles bee...

Dear LucyKate,

Thank you very much for your interest in our hotel.
It is a pleasure to read your kind comment regarding our Spa facilities. For your information, as said upon check in, we offer buggy lifts from the hotel reception up to our calm and chilled out Spa building. We are currently planning new designs for bathroom refreshments; and soon enough we will still welcome our guests in this chalet atmosphere, answering better their needs.
Indeed, our resort is located in the town center, on a hill top, and Sapa township center is reachable in a few minutes walk.
Looking forward to welcome you again in our property.

If you want a nice resort that's very comfortable then this is your spot. Rooms were fine, but the lobby had a very ski lodge feel which we loved. The staff is very helpful and the location is very central to downtown Sapa. Breakfast was great and had a mix of comfort food & local Vietnamese food. They also offer a train to the hotel, but that was a bit pricey for us.

The Victoria Sapa Resort was a wonderful destination after the pleasant overnight ride on the Victoria Express. The hotel is in a beautiful location, overlooking the township of Sapa. The decor and gardens are beautiful and the service is good. Most ravellers seem to stay for 2 or 3 nights. There are so many lovely walks and day trips to do in Sapa, however, you need more time. 4 or 5 nights allows you to enjoy the entertainment and restaurants in the township as well as relaxing in the huge pool at the hotel. The only criticism could be the 'westernised' Vietnamese food in the restaurant and the lack of ceiling fans in the rooms. One can open the French doors on to the verandahs but at night, some airflow would have made the rooms perfect!

Dear Martine J,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with Tripadvisor community.
Our Restaurant is a all day dining room where our French Chef is cooking both European and Vietnamese cuisine. The Vietnamese cuisine is a fusion with the European influence of the place.
Indeed, to fully enjoy the destination, 4 or 5 nights is preferable. That’s why we invite you to visit our website where you will discover our packages including the “Between Luxury and Authenticity” which is a trip on board of the Victoria Express Train, a home stay set up with Victoria standards and 2 nights at the Resort. It is the perfect package to discover the uniqueness of the Alps of the Tonkin.
We are looking forward to welcoming you again at the Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa.

Nice hotel in a great location. Sapa is one of the most beautiful places on earth! Hotel is walking distance to the center of the village and centrally located for all the beautiful hikes in the mountains and villages around. The staff is mostly friendly and attentive. Had a bit of problem with the reservation (whether breakfast was included or not) and it was solved - but with heavy resistance from the hotel reception staff. Suggest being careful with making your reservations through a company which is officially authorized to make bookings at the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and restaurant is good. Will come back to beautiful Sapa for sure - should be on everyone's list of places to visit.
