“Great Sapa vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

We arrived to the hotel very early in the morning due to the train. They were very accommodating and let us into our room early(By about 8AM). The hotel and staff were very nice. Our room was nice. The only complaint I would even have was that the bathtub/shower were looking a little worn down. Nothing major though that warranted a complaint to the hotel. Everything was clean. The bed was a bit hard- perfect for my husband but I prefer a little softer...especially after a long day of hiking! We were both very sore! Used the spa and both got massages which were also very good. Once we checked out, they let us come back that afternoon and use the spa to shower and get ready for the crappy train ride back ( see post on livitrans). Last comment, but also minimal and not a deal breaker, is that it'd be nice if the hotel/spa carried plastic bags for guests. Our clothes were muddy and sweaty after a long day of trekking in the mountains with rain. Our shoes were caked in mud and we had nothing to carry them back to Hanoi in. Bring extras with you!

Dear Jennie H,

Thank you very much for your review, we really appreciate it.
It is always good to have positive feedback on the service and cleanness, which is very important for us.
After a long day of trek in the mountains, our Spa will allow you to relax your body and your mind through some massages, scrubs, wraps or medicine baths.
Our laundry department offers to clean your shoes within 3 hours, you will get them back clean of mud and dry, ready to pack.
For a better experience, we suggest you to have a look to our website to discover the Victoria Express Train, which will transport you from Hanoi to Lao Cai in a luxurious atmosphere, comfort and service.
It will be a pleasure to welcome you again at the Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa.

Probably the best (only?) quality large hotel in Sapa although there do appear to be some nice smaller boutique style hotels in town. Good service and breakfast was up with what you would expect for a 3 star hotel.
Spa was excellent with a large indoor pool and good quality massage - at Western prices!

The hotel facilities are very good, the staff is very courteous and friendly, always willing to help. The room is spacious and comfortable. The highlight of the hotel is the delicious breakfast with many choices of pastries and french bread, delish, delish. Woww! drinks are strong!!! =))) The Spa is good but not extraordinary for the prices they charge, too expensive.

Dear Lourdes A,

Thank you very much for your appreciated review.
This is great to read about our team members, the Victoria employees, we thanks you for this valuable comment.
Our Spa, located on a hill, away from noise and from any disturbance, offers a large variety of treatments, from the beauty treatment to a 3.5 hours package including full body massage. The atmosphere of the place and the skills of the therapists make this place unique.
Our breakfast, served from 6.30AM to 10AM, display some pastries, cakes and live stations as eggs on demand and Vietnamese traditional breakfast dishes.
It will be a pleasure to welcome you again at the Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa.

Victoria hotel need to improve service at Hanoi station for people who have no idea how to find the correct train. It is a pity that there is nobody at the station that understands engish
The train trip itself is good however the dining car prices are overpriced

Dear Smurfy9,

Thank you for rating us.
At Hanoi Train Station, a Victoria yellow board is placed at entrance of the station with a part of the Victoria Express Team, at least our porters are there at all times (or just a wait for few minutes) to orient you and assist you with your luggage. Our French Train Manager or Team of Supervisors will be very happy to meet you in English language in front of our carriages for explain to you the safety procedure and more. We are doing now a lot of English training for a better and better level of service.
During your way up to Lao Cai, you have the chance to experience a unique moment by having a dinner on board of the Train. We do not provide only snacks as others might do, but full menus, or a la carte dishes.
We look forward to welcome you again at the Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa.

Had a lovely visit to Sapa and the Victoria. We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was very accommodating with early check-in and late check-out, required because of train schedule. Food was a bit expensive but good quality.

Dear cjohn5,

Thank you very much for reviewing our property.
Due to train time table, we need to offer some alternative to guests when arriving early in the morning. It is possible tobook the night before to make sure to get the room upon arrival, otherwise, the Good Morning Sapa Package (including breakfast, 30 minutes massage and access to the Spa facility to refresh or relax) is available.
The Tavan restaurant is a place to enjoy a culinary experience. Where our team lead by our Chef, cooks some Northern Vietnamese dishes and many Western favorites. With the meal, a variety of wines can be chosen.
We look forward to welcome you again.

Pro:
Clean rooms, great views, amazing pool and spa facilities, friendly staff
Cons:
Expensive food and drinks

We stayed at the victoria sapa for one night after a long two day trek in sapa valley. It was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. The pool facility is amazing. Steam room, sauna and clean indoor swimming pool were all immaculate and easily accessible. We didn't care much for the spa treatments as they looked very expensive, but probably very worthwhile. The food and drinks we thought we overpriced. Go into town (or even closer, across the road) to get your beer and save your money. The rooms were spacious, clean and offered a great night's sleep. The tv even had many English channels so we could watch the Olympics. All in all, the ambience offered the restful stay we we looking for. If we come back to sapa, we will stay here.

As you write about relaxing moment, the different treatments we offer to guests are provided by qualified therapists in a peaceful place. The Spa is designed and organized in this purpose.

This is a lovely hotel in (one of) the most beautiful spots in Vietnam, Sapa !

I made the reservation online and we had to collect our vouchers and train tickets in the Hanoi Office that is located near the Opera and Hilton Hotel. The staff is very friendly. The people who take care of you on the train as well ! The train is more comfortable than taking the Sapaly train to Lao Cai.

The hotel is situated on a hill close to the centre. The pool, spa and some other facilities are 100 or 200 m more up on the top of the hill. If it's rainy and not too hot in Sapa this walk is not a lot of fun to do. The people who give the massage (included in the package) were very friendly and good.

The rooms are clean and nice. In the bathroom we had a bath. After a long day walking in rain and 20°, taking a bath can be very relaxing and satisfying ! One negative thing is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. You don't need it because of the heat, but it can be very humid. That means that wet clothes won't dry up at all. Airconditioning makes the air dryer and would allow this.

The breakfast buffet is wonderful. You have a lot of choice in things to eat and drink : western, eastern, fruit,...You name it, it's available on the buffet !

In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Sapa. Most of the staff speaks English, there are some French people working in the hotel as well. If necessary, they can help you in French as well.
