Run by a cool Danish guy with local villagers as staff, the Hill Station has a relaxed vibe and is a welcome retreat.

Best feature is the coffee! Real coffee! Coffee you can smell, taste, get light-headed about, made by a barista, not powder out of a can. If you've ever been travelling in outback Asia, you'll know what an oasis this type of establishment can be.

Was devastated when there was an 18-hour power outage and the coffee machine didn't work!

Great little place.

We ate at the signature restaurant a few nights ago and had an amazing experience. As such, we thought we'd pop into the deli for a western-style sandwich a couple of days later thinking we'd have a good experience there too. We ordered a baguette with mozzarella, tomato and basil to take away. This cost 135,000 so around $6.75. Firstly, the sandwich was missing the basil and we didn't realise this until we got back to the hotel and it was too far to go back. Secondly, the sandwich was really, really bland. There was no seasoning whatsoever and the baguette itself was not very nice - not crispy (didn't seem that fresh) and it was very dense. For the price, we expected this simple sandwich to be much better. Such a shame. Maybe the other sandwiches are better. A suggestion to the management is to have better quality take-away packaging as well. Our sandwich came in cling film in a cheap plastic bag so the sandwich was a bit soggy. Perhaps you could use brown paper packaging to keep the sandwiches fresher. On the plus side, the service was quick and the ambience of the deli was very nice while we waited for the food.

We went here to get food for the train as they advertised "lunch boxes". We ended up just getting baguettes and they were absolutely beautiful. Their service was very good with help to make our choices. We got back just as they were finishing our order. I saw tomato on mine which I do not eat and hadn't realised it came with it. I asked if they could just take it off, they offered to make me another. I chose just to have it removed, but was impressed at the offer to remake.
We had also been here for a drink during a stay in SaPa, it has a really nice atmosphere, you can sit and watch the world go past.

The Hill Station is wonderful, it brings authentic Vietnamese food into a modern contemporary setting. Really wonderful food ( altho not the greatest choice for vegetarians)

Great decor. Asian fusion style. Food was excellent and a bargain to boot. Plan to go back. We had shallots chicken pork dishes with sweet potato and two rounds of beers for 20 USD and the food was local and presented in a fusion style. This place could work in any big city. Really good
