Cute setting in a nice building with cozy atmosphere. Great service and most important: great food. It's all about cheese and old cuts as well as amazing sandwiches. They also had burgers on the menu but we didn't try. The local staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely can be recommended. Nice to jut sit and chat for a while after days of walking.

We reached this restaurant/cafe after wandering down one of the main streets of Sapa. We were only looking for coffee and a bite to eat. The food was lovely we had a choice of an apple pie or carrot cake which was all the choice we needed. We also ordered cafe latte's which were lovely. The service was great and the staff (2 Hmong girls) were very friendly and courteous. Wish we had more time to try their menu out.

First, the food at The Hill Station is a welcome change from the usual fare served in Sa Pa. The ambience is mellow and relaxed, and the location great for watching the world go by (but you can also decide to take a break from it upstairs as you wish). The blue-cheese burger is fantastic, with home made chips; as well as the cheese and cold cut platters. The wine choice is good and the recommendations I've been given were always spot-on. However what I think really makes this place stand out is that Tommy and his team train and employ ethnic minority Hmong staff. An all-round winning combination. A few other reviewers have said that the service can be slow, but please remember that this is a very different setting than normal for some of these young staff members. Chi, a young Hmong woman from a nearby village, who is often the floor manager, is awesome.

The Hill Station was selected after reading TripAdvisor reviews and it was an excellent choice. After being on the road for over two weeks it was great to have some wine and cheese in a casual setting. The wine list is excellent except the one I wanted was sold out, and the highlights were the sheer quality of the food......the cheeses were superb (Comte and a soft blue), the pâté likewise and the Sapa trout was one to remember. Go there!
I think we will try their other restaurant tonight!
