We organised a complete package with the Sapa Eden Hotel which included train, room, food and 2 days of visits/treks Although we were surprised to being staying at their sister hotel (Sapa Eden Lodge), we didn't regret it. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the room was stunning with a fantastic view and the visits with a dedicated local guide were brilliant. The hotel is located at the bottom end of the town, but a couple of minutes walk you are in the centre. What we particularly liked was that they offered you a room at no extra cost to use in the afternoon when you returned from your trip so that you could shower etc. before you went to get the train. Would stay their again without any hesitation.

We had lovely stay in Sa Pa at this hotel. The view from our room (and small balcony) were remarkable, and the staff at reception was quite friendly. The bathroom had a bit of a strange odor and could use an update, but this was more than compensated for by the friendly staff. The lunch we are at the restaurant was surprisingly tasty. We were booked at this hotel as part of a package so I can't comment on the rate, but we enjoyed the trekking opportunities that were arranged for us!

After a night train ride from Ha Noi we where really happy to be welcomed by the extremely nice and friendly lady at the check in counter, even though it was 6 in the morning. After a lovely breakfast (with an extremely nice view) we could have an early check in which was great! Even though the whole of Sa Pa didn't have power for 1 day we enjoyed just sitting at our balcony at candle light enjoying the beautiful view. The room itself was basic but really comfortable. We also really liked the 1 day hike we booked through this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Sapa Eden Hotel in May 2014. The location is great and the view is amazing (overlooking Cat Cat village). Weather is nice in Sapa too so it's nice to be up in the Mountain area. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious, washroom can use an upgrade but was functional and clean. No A/C or ceiling fan can make the room warm. There is also no safe. Wifi was good but electricity can be spotty at times. Breakfast is on top floor and offered a wide variety which was nice. Arrange a train station pick up and drop off before hand. Staff at hotel also arranged our trek the following day which was nice and well organized. A major plus was staff allowing us a late check out so we were able to keep our room and our luggage until late on the day we were leaving. These small accommodations make Sapa Eden Hotel stand out and is the reason I would recommend to other travellers for their stay in Sapa.

The view from our room was amazing! Room itself was massive with a comfy bed and sofa! The staff were so friendly esp trang and the restaurant crew :) they catered to our palates and made us whatever we wanted to eat for three meals of the day :)

Only issue we had was with the toilet in the room which had a rather damp smell to it.

Other than that we enjoyed our stay

I don't really get into the negative review writing about any experience but I do feel compelled to write this one.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and when we first arrived were so taken by the amazing views of our room, straight out onto the mountains that we didn't see the small things that the room lacked that actually turned out to be big things when staying for four days.
Sapa is hot during the day so a fridge would have been great in the room and a necessity for the warmer months. The TV is there but is in a weird place that you would never use and the plug doesn't work. The beds and pillows are uncomfortable.
I was violently ill which I suspect was from the omlette from the Hotels breakfast as nothing is refrigerated. Sure the eggs are most likely fresh from the chickens but in the humidity of the forth floor kitchen, things can go bad.
Also watch the bathroom that you don't flush the toilet whilst someone is in the shower as this happened to us and gross I know but the previous nights dinner (that i spent all night getting back up) came back up the drain to greet me whilst I was trying to get myself to a good enough state to check out.
In saying that, the hotel was good enough to transfer us to the sister hotel to rent out the room for the rest of the day before catching the overnight train back to Hanoi.
We booked a one day walking tour down to the hill tribe villages 11km away which was quite good for $15 each.
Overall, I think this place was great back in the day when it was built but now has a run down feel and the service is not outstanding. What you see is what you get which is disappointing after such outstanding over and above service in the rest of Vietnam. Good if you staying 1-2 nights.

Room Tip: If you stay get the mountain views.

My husband and I stayed in the older building (they own another hotel as well, not sure what the name is) and it was fabulous. It's at the end of town, but town is a 10 minute walk from end to end, so don't worry about distances. There's also a great place across the street called Cafe in the Clouds that's amazing and serves HUGE portions - I'd recommend splitting even if you're starved. The room was wonderful - ask for a top floor with a view - and the breakfast was included - recommend the omelets. Room was clean, bathroom is somewhat outdated, but the price of the hotel and functionality were top notch. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat and have recommended it to all of our friends that travel. You can also rent a scooter for $6 per day, but be careful, we didn't have enough fuel to get to the gas station and had to buy some from a vendor on the way. The hotel can set up guides for treks, but we met two women walking through town and used them instead - that's up to you. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Request a top floor with a view of the valley.
