1. Minutes to good food
- SapaRooms, which to us serves very decent vietnamese food at affordable prices (must try thir Sapa Garden fruit juice)
- Market, food for the eyes and your belly.

2. Accommodating to our requests
- We didn't want to squeeze and be herded like sheep onto a tour van on our visit to the Bac Ha markets, so we asked for a private tour (USD$90 for 2).
- The owner immediately made the arrangements and it was settled in minutes.

3. Patio outside your room
- It was a shared patio, but really great to sit out and enjoy the cool weather with a glass of wine.

Catcat is a small hotel (app.10 rooms) at the end of Catcat road so has good quiet environment. Hotel owner likes gardening so plants lots of flowers and small green bushes, makes his hotel like a cozy cottage. Each floor has 2-3 rooms with a balcony and 2 outdoor coffee tables, lovely for tea/coffee and sightseeing and safe for children.

Room services is at basic level, but clean & tidy. There's no mini-bar and locker in room, but enough hot-water and heating blanket. The room has wide-window and a small 14-inch TV. There's also no personal toiletries so remember to bring your brushes & shaver, though towels & hair-drier are provided.

Hotel owners are a very nice couple, hard-working and incredibly helpful. Mr.Ha was a tour-guide so he knows well about Sapa and surrounding villages. He also has quite good tips for trekking to Fansipan or tribal villages, can help you to rent bikes or car at a reasonable price. The hotel also developed its tours to untouched villages which are well worth to try.

This is definately the best budget accomodation in Sapa but do not stay here if you are noisy, rude or going to make life difficult for the family that runs it because they are super nice and deserve to have only super nice guests. Be careful not to confuse this place with the Cat Cat View which is next door, its not the same and CatCat Hotel is 100% better.

This is a very good mid range hotel for sapa. It has nice views of te illage and Mt fansipan particularly from the top floors.

The big advantage for this hotel is that it is family run, and none of their guests gets lost in the shuffle as with the larger hotels. They work very hard to accommodate their guests- they arrange for me to check in early when I arrived at 7 am from the over night train from hanoi. And they were glad to move me to the top floor when asked for a nicer room with a better view than what I paid for.

It's a no frills hotel, but very comfortable and clean.

I also booked a private guide and trek with this hotel and it was fabulous!!!! They arranges the homestays and found the guide. One of the most amazing things ive done on vacation!! The guide was superb, food tasty, and scenery unbelievable.

I checked into a larger hotel on my last night only because i prepaid it. I had coffe and lunch at this hotel because I loved the company!

Definitely recommended.

We had 2 nights in a family room. The owner, Ha speaks fairly good English and is helpful but not pushy. His wife also works in the hotel and our kids enjoyed playing with their young toddler/baby in the dining room. Ha arranged a guided walk for us with only 12 hrs notice. The breakfasts are fine. Our room didn't have a mini bar fridge but just over the road and down a few metres is the nature view bar which is a great spot for a drink.
