Our hotel in Hanoi recommended this hotel. It is in a great location. The rooms are clean and large and we had a view of the Fansipan mountain. They arranged a guide for us called Luan and he was brilliant. The food was really fresh and good. My only little bit of criticism is that the room felt a little bit damp when we went in at first but to be honest that was only for a few minutes probably because the room window was open and the mist came in. Would definitely stay here again and ask for Luan as a guide as he is a very knowledgable guide who is great fun and has a great sense of humour.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a mountain view

Very good hotel in a nice street with lots of shops, also not far from the Sapa market and restaurants. Very friendly staff. The rooms are big, luxurious, very clean and have a mosquitonet, a fridge, tea/coffe facility (complimentary). Very good beds. Bathroom with shower only. Breakfast was very good. We booked rooms with view and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the beautiful scenery. Recommended!

Friendly and welcoming staff, superb location, luxurious room and stunning views make this place a great place to stay. A couple of issues over prices for transport to/from Lao Chai, and also when they tried to add a 15% service charge to a cooking course. Both were quickly resolved - not sure whether the staff don't communicate with each other to hand over agreed tariffs, or whether they were chancing their arm. Either way, it was a small irritant in an otherwise outstanding stay. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for mountain view. Check whether there is a safe if you need one. My room did not have one.

My family of 2 adults and 2 children 13 and 9 stayed here in July for one night. the views from the restaurant are amazing.
My husband and I were upgraded to a suite which, for the price, was lovely. The view from the balcony was divine. I spent a few hours before a trek lying on the bed watching the clouds and rain come over the montain-awesome. Wasn't feeling the best and this was a excellent excuse to do this. Comfortable bed, large room and OK bathroom. It had a large wooden tub in the bathroom that let the shower water flow all over the floor-many bathrooms are like this in Vietnam.

We had booked a room next door for our children as the family room was already booked. On arrival, our children's room was across the hall-was a bit worried about this but they were fine. Their room had a view down the street to the mountains and a large balcony. Very similar set up to our room although smaller. However, their twin beds were extremely firm. As we were only staying the night, they just put up with it. Any longer and I would have asked for a mattress topper. I don't think I would have been able to sleep on these beds. Kids said the beds on the sleeper train were more comfortable!
The lovely lady manager was a treasure and an asset to the hotel-very warm and outgoing. We were provided with a bathroom to have a shower when arriving from the night train and when leaving to go to the night train. The manager explained that if they had any spare rooms we would have been able to use these. They were very busy at the time.

Breakfast was delicious and we ate our evening meal there. Excellent service and good food.
If I did this trip again, I would book a room the night before arrival so that when arriving at 6am in the morning you could go straight to your room, have a nap, shower etc before trekking. (Especially with children)

Room Tip: Book a room for the night before. Would have been good to move straight into room

The views are amazing!

The viet food here is amazing but..
My partners breakfast came with really badly stale bread. when she returned it, they said it was because of the weather. I'm not sure what that means cos its really ordinary warm weather.

Our (deluxe) room is spacious and has a great deck outside... its a communal deck but hasn't seen much action.

The shower is a trickle which isn't ideal after a trek but eventually gets the job done.

The bed is very hard...which i like.

The cupboard smells very mouldy. I have opted to keep my stuff in my bag.

At the price, I'd say it's worthwhile.
