Located in the tranquil village of Cepaka. The well appointed Villa Mawar is set in beautifully manicured lush gardens. Itcatered to all of our needs and ensured we had an amazing family holiday. The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfortable complete with mosquito nets (adding to the balinese experience). The well sized pools gave us hours of family fun and the spa in the traditional balinese wooden house together with the sounds of nature offered a blissfully relaxing experience (highly recommended).
Staff were attentive, polite and non intrusive, going above and beyond that made us feel welcome and comfortable.
Wayan the property manager was informative and knowledgeable and even took the kids for a bike ride through the rice paddy's much to the delight of my 10yo
Osin and the kitchen staff treated us to the most deliciously nourishing breakfasts, lunches, dinners (the satay is a must have).
Thank you Villa Mawar.
A truely memorable stay.
This is the most luxuriously private and vast residence I have ever stayed in Bali. As a seasoned veteran of Indonesia (I have been to Bali 8 times prior to this) I can honestly say I have never stayed somewhere so lush, secluded, and perfectly tropical.
My first few days I took the liberty to enjoy a wine or two around the pool(s), as well as simply beautiful and fresh meals prepared by Osin, the private chef. I followed this with an amazing detox cleanse from the Sukhavati Clinic just next door, with specialised program from the doctor, as well as Yoga every morning. Villa Mawar has it's own massage bale along it's River bank(!), so we had the most gorgeous therapist arrive for a full treatment without having to go anywhere at all, and on my last day day, I was completely re-energised from city life and lifting weights in the Mawar gym! (Sooo good having a gym to yourself by the way)
It was the perfect combination of privacy, indulgence and full health resotraition, and I can't imagine staying at a Bali resort ever again after being blessed with the Mawar experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough - thank you to the gorgeous staff at Villa Mawar, to whom nothing was too much.
The place itself is amazing, well laid out and planned and very spacious rooms with nature onsuites. Everything was taken care of with a full stock fridge(soft drinks and beer) and a well trained friendly staff to see to all our needs. The music system is awesome and its everywhere you go.The staff are true ambassadors of the Balinese community and made us feel like family.Wayan the manager is excellent he made sure that all our needs were met and always with a smile. Osin the kitchen manageres ran the kitchen very professionally and she and her staff, Putri,Ayu made us the most delicious foods. The driver Osin was always so patient and reliable and took us to see many interesting places and always with a smile. Julie,Sargo and Ocol always maintain the gardens to look so beautifull and clean every day. Made,Wayan and Nyoman made sure that we were kept safe at night and tend to every concern that we might have. Having a massage at the villa was convenient and the ladies are very professional and good at their job.If you looking for a personalised holiday where you are treated like royalty and also like family, then this is the place.
The place is stunning, the service superb... I have nothing but the best to say about this place. I ran a yoga retreat and all my students were so happy there and I only had to worry about my yoga and meditation program, everything else was taken care of.
My group and I had an amazing time at Villa Mawar. Everything was perfect- sizeable rooms with beautiful "jungle style' showers, and a lovely infinity pool. To me, the standouts was the level of service, from small things like complementary daily laundry (same day service), to a private hut for massages which all of us did. The food cooked by the chef Ohsin was amazing. She made us excellent omelettes every morning, along with a delicious basil prawn pasta for lunch and a balinese dinner spread.
overall, I have no reservations about recommending this tropical paradise for anyone, particularly big groups who want to get away from the hustle of Seminyak/Kuta.

We had a wonderful family holiday here (including children ranging in age from almost 12 months to 12 years) for a week in July.
My family group arrived at night, during torrential rainfall, so the beauty of Villa Mawar was not revealed, until the morning. And what a reveal! The gentle hum of the river with its early morning mist, the twittering of the little finches by the pool, the stunning gardens that are well-tended but organic enough to harmonise rather than compete with the wilds of the jungle across the river… The first (and lasting) impression is that you are in your own luxury, private resort.
The interiors of each bedroom were minimalist but still relaxed. The king beds were divinely comfortable and the bathrooms were generously sized.
We adored the champagne bure for family-enforced “no device” time and many a G&T and a laugh was had pre-dinner. It was also a perfect place to escape with a book for respite from the sun. The main pavilion was nicely appointed with good sized lounges and our own drinks fridge. The sonos sound system was also well-utilized.
The main pool was absolutely delightful with the most beautiful view over the river and across to the jungle. From a totally practical perspective, it was a great temperature – sometimes hard to find in a Balinese pool! We really enjoyed the bar area down there too – lovely to slake a thirst with a local beer at around midday!
The gym was utilized by members of our party, and they were impressed with the space of the gym and the equipment.
My husband appreciated the structural engineering of the property, especially the stairs carved into the hillside. He enjoyed spending solo time beside the river, contemplating life!
The wonderful staff are instrumental in creating the peaceful atmosphere of Villa Mawar, overseen by the diligent and capable property manager, Wayan.
Osin, the house manager, runs a professional kitchen. Due to having children with us, we dined in most nights and were always impressed with the menu. We LOVED eating the traditional Balinese food such as the bean salad and the fish curry - really beautiful food, full of flavour. The breakfasts were fantastic – the kids were most impressed with the pancakes and the adults were enamoured with the light, fluffy omelettes. Nothing was too much trouble and we were particularly heartened by the kindness of the kitchen staff, who were considerate enough to make baby food for our little boy!
Osin also organised for massage therapists to come in-house (there is a gorgeous treatment room down by the river). We all enjoyed several massages whilst there. Very relaxing and so nice to not have to venture any further than the corner of the property!
Jule the villa’s driver is the most delightful character – smiling and always obliging. He recommended a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Canggu for dinner one night and was also happy to shuttle us back and forth to Echo Beach and also to take the older kids in the group to the various water parks, as well as a day trip to Ubud.
This was our first stay around the Canggu area and we were very impressed. Due to the limited time there and the restrictions of young children, we didn’t explore as much of the region as we would have liked. However, on future visits we will definitely spend more time checking out all of the shopping and dining experiences. The villa is also in quite close proximity to the Pan Pacific Nirwana Resort which is great for a golfers. We utilized the fantastic pool area on a day trip there and the kids had an absolute ball on the waterslides, whilst the adults relaxed with a great food menu and nice mojitos!
Our overall experience was absolutely delightful. We feel very privileged to have spent time in such a welcoming, relaxing haven. A true gem!
I have recently returned from 5 nights in this divine place and I can confirm the rave reviews. The location is away from the noise and the crowds, but close enough to dine out, if you feel the need. The villa itself is simply beautiful, the position on the side of the hill overlooking the river, the quality and good taste that is evident in the building, fittings and furnishings.
The staff are delightful and attentive without being overbearing.
In all, a relaxing, peaceful retreat to which I hope to return one day.
