Our best experience in Bali in 10 years!
Friendly staff, amazing and super spacious villa and garden.
Pool with sea salt
Delicious food (thaks to Wyan)
A big thanks to Marege and Brendan for their organization.
6 bicycles at the villa to reach all restaurants and surf spots in less than 2 minutes.
A place that i highly recommend for families or holidays with friends, we will come back for sure
We stayed for NYE holiday with large groups. First, it is exactly the same from what we see from the web. It's clean , very close to the beach , secured and many restaurants near by.
The Manager & Staffs was very helpful. One thing what we didn't get was daily breakfast. Usually it's included in villa service. So we had to do the groceries and the villa staffs helped the preparation. Overall the rest of it is Very Good. The kids really love the large pool. The rooms all good. Really enjoyed our stay.
Spent Christmas here with family. The villa has 2 pools, 6 suites, and a large common room. The small pool is great for babies and the big pool has great deck for sun bathing. The frinedly staff and chef catered my family well. We all loved staying here.
The villa is also 5 mins by walking to the Echo beach or to the town center where we can find great cafes and quality bakery.
Definetly a first choice for me when i return.

I have never written a review on tripadvisor however, my recent stay at Echo Beach Duo Bali made me write my first. I am writing this review based on the 6 days we've stayed at the villa. My group of friends and I travel to Bali yearly (for 5 years now) for our year end holiday with our kids. This is by far the worst villa we've stayed in and it totally destroyed our Bali experience.
We are a group of 4 families with young children. We booked this villa few months ahead of our holiday and we had confirmed all arrangements including airport pick-up etc. As we were on separate flights, the first group of our friends arrived at 9.30am. No one from the villa picked them up as agreed. My friend had to make several phone calls to reach someone and they had to last-minute arrange for a car to pick them to the villa. The wait at the airport was 2 hours.
When the rest of the groups reached the villa at about 2pm, we were all hungry and had expected the chef to whip up our lunch but no, it didn't happen as chef didn't know what to cook. Maybe we were pampered by ALL the other villas that we had stayed in; that chef will take the initiative to cook something. So apparently not and we had to order take-out. That's fine.
As we were settling in the room, I realized that I brought the wrong international adaptor so I asked one of the service staff if they have an international adaptor that I could borrow. The answer was a straight "NO". Well, thanks - at least you could have offered me a suggestion on where to buy or get it. Thankfully one of the butlers Dewa stepped in and managed to find me three adaptors! He's a gem!
Shortly after, I also asked for extra pool towels and the answer again was a "NO, we don't have. Towels washing..." I mean seriously?! I looked at her and said "No towels in the whole villa??" And her answer was again a "NO". Wow.
My friend was trying to turn on the TV in his room and he wasn't able to get it switched on. Was trying to figure it out and realised the remote control had no batteries! Really?? It is supposed to be a functional villa where it should be guest-ready?! No??
Next - ALL the in-room safes in the rooms weren't working?! It was indeed very frustrating. Maybe they expect us to keep our valuables under the pillow.
The in-house chef was indeed disappointing. He was a poor cook and he was unable to even whip up a decent meal. All the meat we had bought he had overcooked them. Eventually we had to survive on take-outs and BBQ, which was also overcooked. I questioned further only to find out that he was a temp chef hired at the last minute.
The fridge in the villa was not cold hence a lot of the food we bought were not properly stored.
The pool pump broke down on the 3rd day of our stay. We had to avoid the pool as water was not circulated. It was only repaired the following day in the PM.
There were 3 black-outs in the main villa during our 6-day stay with no electricity and water. The major one was at 11pm at night when the power and water was abruptly cut off and my friend was in the shower dripping with soap along with a crying toddler in the bedroom who was frightened by the black-out. When we called for the security guard, no one had any idea how to turn on the power. We waited for half an hour for the rectification. In the end, Dewa the awesome butler had to ride from home to the villa just to turn on the power. Seriously, couldn't the management have anticipated something like that and have a solution on stand-by??
I think the most classic 'event' we had at the villa was that the towels that were thrown on the floor for wash were REUSED! I saw one of the staff recycling the towels from the floor and asked her why didn't she put it in the wash?! She starred at me blankly. I further quizzed her and asked if the towels were those from the room bathroom floor that she picked up and folded back onto the pool deck chairs and she said YES! I again asked her if she had been doing it for days and she stared at me blankly again. Double Wow. I went to my room and check the bath towels - indeed they are recycled ones and never washed even though we had indicated our intention by leaving it on the floor. And they never clean the bathroom. The toilet bowl was dirty and remained dirty after their 'cleaning'.
The WIFI in the villa was bad. Some of us had to subscribe to 3G with our local telcom.
Lastly, we strongly believe that the management and the villa manager is to be responsible for all these hiccups. Throughout our entire stay, the villa manager only showed up twice - once is to deliver a champagne from the owner as a form of apologies for the no-show pick-up at the airport and the second time was when I asked to speak to him on the 2nd day of our stay expressing our disappointment in the service standards. Echo Beach Duo Villa staff are not trained at all. Not in service and not in any form. The best we can get out of the villa is probably the butler Dewa who has tried his best to undo what the villa had done to our holiday. He is really a great staff for keeps.
I don't believe we have extremely high expectations - perhaps the previous villas we've stayed in had set such high standards that Echo Beach Duo Villa becomes incomparable. Echo Beach Duo Villa had undoubtedly destroyed our Bali experience.

This is one of the best villa ever, we had so much fun. Loving the view of the villa, it's so beautiful. It is so convenient as well as it's nearby the Echo beach. The manager is so friendly as well as the staff. Will definitely stay here again for our next visit. Totally recommended! 5 Star!!!

Enjoyed our time here at the villa with my family and friends! We stayed for a week and absolutely fell in love with the villa. Loved the pool, the food, friendly staff, spacious, clean, and only 5 minutes walk away from the beach! Definitely coming back!

What a great time we had!!! The villa design is amazing, quality, space, light. We were quite lucky, as the villa is just brand new and we did not know it when we booked.
Our kids were safe thanks to the pool fence, what a peace of mindl!!! and they had plenty of garden space for running and playing around.
The cook was great, and when we wanted to go dining or drinking outside, there is plenty of choices!
The beach is just at the end of the little path, we walked there bare foot, enjoy the sunset and watch surfers.
Thank you for having free bicycles available at the villas (for kids too!), it is really cool to cycle in the nearby villages and rice fields.
And thank you Dewa our villa manager, for your kindness during our stay!
See you again as soon as possible!
Cathy
