We booked Hacienda Bali in April with another couple for a long weekend trip from Singapore, we both have a young children and so we booked 2 x 2 Bed pool villas.

First thing to say is that airport to door was a dream, we had at the plane greet service and we had our bag and in the car on the way to Hacienda in just about 10 minutes.

We arrived in the evening on Friday, but the staff were attentive and we checked in and settled down very quickly, which gave us time to have a light supper (which was delicious) and a few drinks at the bar together before turning in for the night.

One of the reasons we booked Hacienda, is its location next to Echo beach. I am surfer and normally we stay near good beaches when we go away so I can wake up very early (5.30am) and go for a surf before the family wakes up. Saturday was great, scored awesome 3-4ft waves with not too many other folks in the water.

Our daughter was up quite early (8am) on Saturday so we asked for breakfast in the villa, which was a great spread of breads, fruit and and American style hot breakfast - we enjoyed this by the pool while we took in turns to splash around with my daughter :-).

My wife wanted to do some shopping, so we booked on of the resort car and drivers for the day and took a trip to Seminyak which took about 15 mins to some boutiques and surf shops - and after an afternoons shopping we took Sundowners and an early dinner at Ku De Ta where we met our friends. Overall a great day and we were back in the calm of Hacienda by 9.30pm and all asleep by 9.35!

Sunday was some of the same for me, an early morning surf but after that I came back and brought wife and baby for a walk down to the beach where we walked along to Echo beach and had our breakfast overlooking the surf (you can see all 4 waves from the cafes at Echo, great location). In the morning the wife had a massage in the Villa (organised by the staff) while I played with baby in pool.

We had lunch at the Hacienda Restaurant on Sunday - good was great (I ate Nasi Goreng and Satay and the wife had a western duck dish, with our baby having cheesy pasta especially prepared by the chef). After lunch before we checked out we had a stroll up the road inland, and we noticed the yoga sanctuary and the riding stables.

It's a shame we were only there for less than 48 hours, but was a great break. There's much to do from Hacienda, it's a great base with really helpful staff. We will be back!

Hi James.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on Hacienda Bali - we truly thrive on comments, not just for future guests to look thru but also to learn and adapt to the needs of the Bali holiday maker. We feel that our location allows travellers the chance to experience a little more of the real Bali and feel like they're a little more 'home from home'.

Warm regards,

Hacienda Bali Team.

We are staying at Hacienda villas, and have stayed before, unfortunately the food in the restaurant is letting the villas down!
Breakfast is good, but when we asked for baked beans with breakfast, the reply was sorry Don't Have....Who doesn't have a can of Baked Beans in the pantry?
Whilst having dinner we asked the staff for a main meal sized portion of Tortelinni, and were given entree sizes, after very specific instruction on meal size...repeatedly! There were eight people dinning together and half were served while the other half waited for an hour to get theirs, by which time the appetites had subsided.
We have found that dinner meals can often be hit and miss which is something I would. to have expected from the class and style of accommodation.
I think the head chef, needs to review the menus and if they are offering items then they should be able to serve same! Maybe even a retraining of his underlings.
Regrettably we will not be eating dinner here again.

Room Tip: All villas are excellent, depending on the amount of persons in your group, will determine your villa size.

Hi Carol.

Thank you for taking the time to leave both your comments and review scores for Hacienda Bali - we truly appreciate your feedback and only thru such information can we strive to improve our service going forward.

We sincerely apologise that your preferred breakfast choices were not available and as a lover of beans myself I've personally ensured that they are now an optional extra on our breakfast menu. Addressing your issue on the starter to main portions then we apologise for this and I have met with the chef and restaurant team to take steps to listen and act more accordingly in future.

In light of your dissatisfaction with our restaurant, and our hope that we can match our villas to this integral part of our estate, then I'd like to offer you dinner for two on me upon your return - please drop a quick email and I'll make sure this is taken care of.

Apologies again and we hope to see you at Hacienda Bali again very soon.

Warm regards.

Hacienda Bali Team.

My husband and I had a spectacular stay at this beautiful villa. The rooms and views were absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the 1 bedroom villa (which is the two bedroom villa with one if the rooms locked) we were able to see both rooms before deciding which one to stay in. The view from the upstairs villa was absolutely stunning! They do a turn down service at night, in which they cover the bed with a mosquito net and turn on the beautiful lamps in the room. The pool and deck were awesome- we spent our entire afternoons lazing around, listening to music and just enjoying the beautiful space.
We love staying in the pererenan area as it is close to great surf (my husband surfed every morning at this beach) is quiet and beautiful but it is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and then about a 8-10 minute walk on the beach to the echo beach restaurants. The walk is beautiful though and scooter rentals and cabs are so cheap- so there is the option to drive there as well. There are so many nice restaurants and a spectacular spa (Therapy) at Echo beach, so in my opinion, pererenan area is one of the beat areas to stay in Bali. It is close to desa seni (yoga resort) and fairly close to so many amazing restaurants (our favorite is Sarong in Seminyak for dinner and Beetlenut in Canggu) for lunch.
Overall, we had a great stay and will definitely be visiting Hacienda Bali again soon!

Stayed at Hacienda for a 5d4n for a Girls Trip. Really nice place, spacious and clean. Staff were very accommodating and tried to help in every possible way. We wanted to use our own driver and they gladly helped to contact him and not force us on using their driver. House keeping came 2x a day to ensure clean up and to turn down the bed and to wash any utensils used. We managed to get a massage done, definitely more expensive then in town but had the luxury of a poolside massage. As the villa wasn't booked up, they let us have an extremely late check out.

The only con to the villa was the location, it is very far out from most places. They have a free shuttle service by it runs only till noon, and you would have to find your own way back. So, either buy groceries from the Town or eat at their restaurant which served pretty good food and at affordable prices.

Definitely recommend this villa!! Esp if an R&R trip is on the plan...
