...means Thank you in balinese. Calm tree has been our second home for 12days. Saff has been very friendly and lovely! The place itself is an amazing oasis of peace (just brocken by some mosquitos night time).
Is a complex of warung (typical balinese sheds) very cozy and clean. Garden and swimming pool al clean and very well maintaned, food is simple but good...let the staff provide for the rest!
They are honest and always available to sort out the stuff you need...SPA/restaurants reservatios, bike/scooter/transfer, etc.
Caggu and Echo beach are very close...if you want to go to visit the island be prepared to long rides...traffic is an issue in Bali..almost everywhere!
There are some very nice places around, surely Petitanget and Semyniac are great for shopping, but if you want to stay around you should spend a Sunday evening at Deus, just off the main road, where they gigging and preparing nice meals (is also an amazing surf and motorbike shop....but do not expect chip things overall when quality is really high.
Calm tree Is a very peaceful placealso perfect if you want relax...where also have a shower (under the moon) is a special experience...

Enjoy the good karma of this place!

We stayed in The Calm Tree Bungslow for 3 nights. we are a family with 2 boys (12 and 15 years old). If you love surf and easy location to stay for few days, we recommend this hotel for your stay.
Mosquitos are everywhere, but rooms are equipped with repellent and everything you need.
Food is good and cheep. The beach is not far away (10 minutes walk) and you can rent motorbike in the hotel and surfboard on the beach. We will definitely come back in our next trip to bali. Work in progress during the night THANKS A LOT

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow not at the entrance or if the work in progress are finished

Gede, the owner, used to be a surf guide for one of the surf camps/schools nearby. Hence he has a profound understanding of what surfers are looking for: closeness to great surf spots incl. guidance, affordable but clean and practical accommodation, cheap scooter rental, ding repair, laundry service and Warungs/Restaurants nearby. This all applies to Calmtree - and it lays within a very calm/quiet environment which is an advantage as all bungalows are made from wood and therefore noise sensitive.

Gede and his staff with their friendly nature go the extra mile to be at your service and make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Not only for surfers but also for other travellers I can highly recommend the place. I have spent over 5 weeks here and in Canggu and will definitely return.

The bungalows are absolutely beautiful, all made of natural materials in a traditional Balinese style and are cool and comfortable. The pool is clean and inviting, the gardens are lovely and the resort is small enough to allow guests to meet each other but still have their own space. Gede and his staff look after your every need and provide lovely breakfast .There were a few mosquitoes around, but since the staff provide spray and the rooms have nets, it's not a problem at all if you use these precautions . This part of Bali is perfect for anyone who loves surfing, but everyone can enjoy the beauty and ambience, the wonderful service, the access to so many restaurants nearby, and if you want the shopping madness, just head south to Kuta. Thanks Gede. We'll be back.

This place is as all the reviews have stated- is lovely. It's very beautifully set up and we could not fault it except that we got NO
sleep whatsoever here because the "rooms" are effectively shacks and are not sound proof in any way whatsoever. Every time someone had a quiet conversation with the staff at all ours of the night we could hear everything plus countless other noise incidents of motorbikes starting up in the small hours. It was awful and we couldn't wait to leave. But this doesn't mean it's not a great place it just means that if you are a light sleeper this won't work for you. Also you should know that this place has a terrible issue with Mosquitos and we used up nearly 1 can of spray to get rid of them but by could not get rid of all of them so we had to stay out of our shack to get away from them all.

Our advice is if you can sleep through noise and deal with the Mosquitos, this place is great for you because it's clean and tidy and beautiful and staff are pleasant to communicate with.

We liked this calm and friendly place a lot.
The bungalows are brand new, clean and charming.
Staff is helpful and friendly.
You can walk to the beach, but it's about 20 min. Most People hire a motorbike (what makes balis traffic a total desaster).
The Restaurant and breakfast is basic but OK.
There was a construction site nearby in June 2013, with some noise during the day. (Maybe done now).
All in all: I think one of the best places to stay around Canggu.

The Calmtree bungalows were a very enjoyable stay for my wife and I. We have been to Bali many times before and it was so nice to stay in a relaxed, clean, friendly and affordable hotel in Canggu, Bali. It is only 10minutes walk to the beach with a nice cafe close by. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the arrangement of tall the rooms around the centre pool was also very enjoyable. The Manager Dede was very kind and helpful during our stay and we will definitely return.
