The villa was clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable and we loved having a private pool. Young man who constantly helped us and booked taxi's for us was lovely and friendly. However I wouldn't recommend this location for a younger crowd as it's very quiet and not much around! Went down to echo beach for dinner. Overall we were very happy and will be back in July.

Located in a very quiet area in Canggu, Bali. This hotel is very private and comfortable, the room is huge, with bathtub and nice pool. Staff are friendly and helpful and it's pretty close to drive to nice restaurants and bars

We had a lovely stay at Askara Villa - the villas are HUGE and very comfortable with a lovely pool, perfectly airconditioned bedroom and huge bathroom with outdoor shower and lovely big bath tub (and a great dining area/kitchen too!)

The staff at Askara are lovely and helpful - and the villa itself is out the back of Canggu in a village-y area - very few tourists and lots of locals.

You can order food in - the villa staff will phone the order through to Echo Beach Club and it comes half an hour later. OR you can get a taxi to Pepito Supermarket (on Jalan Raya Canggu - about 5 minutes drive) for about 30 000 rupiah - and grab some snacks/groceries to eat in. (The taxi will wait and drive you back if you ask them to.)

You can have a massage or manicure in the villa - plus other treatments. (We went to Think Pink Nails for our Mani/Pedis though!)

We relied on taxis during our stay - and the villa staff were great about calling them when we needed one. It would be PERFECT if you had a hire car or scooter too. If not you have to get the villa staff to organise your transport.

We caught a taxi each day to Monsieur Spoon for a delicious French Breakfast - and then walked down to Old Man's or Echo Beach (10 or 15 mins walk) for a cool drink and a look at the beach. We also went to Green Ginger in Canggu for lunch and it was delicious (but maybe don't order the Pad Thai - it wasn't delicious!)

There are a heap of other great places to eat just 5 or 10 minutes drive from Villa Askara: it makes a great home base to explore from!

A taxi from Villa Askara to the cafes in Canggu costs around 40 000 Rupiah.

Things to note:
There were a few mozzies - so be sure to take mozzie coils or repellant.
The pool is every bit as lovely as in the photos - as is the whole villa!
You can ask for an extra folding bed - the room has a king size bed already.
The garden is super beautiful!
There is noise from construction of some kind during the day - so you might want to know about that.
The staff are very nice.
There is wifi - it's adequate but sometimes a bit patchy.

We had a lovely time. Thank you to Gede, Ketut and staff.

Amazing Villa, we have just had 7 wonderful nights at Askara Villas.
We decided to stay at Askara villas after reading all the wonderful reviews on trip advisor.

The reviews were a great help in us making our decision, and it did not disappoint ,the villas are just what you see in the pictures.

The staff were lovely and there service was outstanding, they are a credit to the management, the garden and pool area was maintained every day by one of the staff thank you so much for your hospitality.

There was a some noise from the brick factory at the back of the villas, but again this depended on which villa you were in , we were in the first villa as you enter the car park on the right hand side, so the brick factory was right behind our villa. But after all the villas are not in a tourist area so a little noise is to be expected.

Meals, we ordered food from the menu a few nights, when we didn't feel like going out, the food was very good. You place your order and the staff go and pick it up from echo beach, there is cooking facilities in the kitchen but very basic if you want to cook something for your self, large fridge in kitchen .The other nights the staff called a driver and he dropped us off at echo beach , lovely sunset and some of the best food we have had in Bali, thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

All in All we will return to the villa next year it was a exceptional experience and great value for money, we have stayed in a few villas now in Bali and this would have to be one of the best for this price range.

Hope this helps, the count down is on..................................
