Even if you don't get the opportunity to stay here it is well worth the trip to come out for a lovely lunch or dinner. The property has one of the most interesting collections of antique building and objects in all of Bali. There are old temples, wonderful wooden houses and much more. If you let them know in advance they can arrange a variety of places for meals, especially if you are a large enough party. But large or small, everyone is welcome with open arms at this wonderful, family run gem of a hotel and the restaurant is no exception.
The Indonesian set meals are the highlight of the menu though there are many other things on offer as well (including a fantastic cobb salad). Choose from Balinese or Javanese options but both are perhaps the best examples of this type of meal in all of Bali. The quality of the raw ingredients and expert cooking are matched only by the creative presentation.
A meal at the Tugu is so much more than just a meal - its an experience. We can't wait to go back again soon.
