This was the second time that I have stayed at Villa Aamoda. It was simply brilliant. They have maintained high standards of luxury. Pool area is great. Villa is spacious with excellent layout. Master bedroom is on the ground floor and there are two more bedrooms upstairs. Large living room together with the dinning area face the pool. Staff were very very helpful. They took care of everthing. Loved it!

The staff at Villa Aamoda made our stay FABULOUS!!!! From the moment I started making inquiries with Rolly we felt well looked after, with all our requests and inquiries answered within a short time. The villa is very well situated approx 250 metres to Echo Beach and the warungs and is in the same complex area as 'Echoland' and 'Villas Echo Beach' (This may assist you when trying to explain to your driver where to go if they are not familiar with the area).

The villa is on Jl Batu Mejan, but you may not be able to find this street on some websites such as Google maps etc in the coming months as they have recently renamed the road to Jl Pantai Sentosa to coincide with the soon to be open 'Sea Sentosa Apartments' located on the beachfront.

There are two bedrooms upstairs and the other bedroom is detached from the main building, next to the pool.

There are two small stores to buy supplies and one offers a reasonable money exchange also. (They were offering approx 100rp less than in Seminyak while we were there - which is about a 1 cent difference) They also hire pushbikes and mopeds for a reasonable rate.

The villa quality is good, and as other reviewers have mentioned if you look hard, you will find the usual Bali issues such as rising damp and doors that are hard to open/close etc, but I don't think this detracts from the Villa. Our linen and towels were laundered, beautiful and fresh every three days and pool towels are provided. There are no top sheets on the beds, which is common practice in Bali, so if you think you would like top sheets I would request this before you arrive.

I have found a lot of Villas in Bali have a terrible supply of crockery, cutlery and glasses for the amount of people that the villa is supposed to cater for, but Villa Aamoda has a more than adequate supply of these items, as well as frypans etc.

The staff were fabulous and Rai is a wonderful cook. We organised a birthday dinner for a friend at the Villa and she cooked some beautiful food for a very reasonable price. The staff organised a birthday cake and helped with decorations. Thanks to them they made the night very special. If you need anything the staff are more than happy to help, you just need to ask them.

The only thing that management could improve is to fix the air conditioner in the living room (as it is still not working), but it is quite small for such a large area and could probably do with a replacement to a larger model.

Wonderful holiday, would stay again and recommend this villa to others.

We stayed in Villa Aamoda for 4 nights in early July 2012... we didn't want to leave. The villa is fantastic, it's a short walk to echo beach (great for surfers) and all the echo beach cafes and the beauty salon called Golddust. It's a great break from the hustle and bustle of seminyak, legian, kuta and even ubud. Highly recommend.

The villa is in an excellent location, a short walk to the beautiful Echo Beach and a great choice of fantastic restuarants. There is limited shopping close by but a day trip to Kuta takes care of that! There are no hawkers or beach masseurs, so you can walk the beach quietly and in peace. There are shops close by that do massage (Golddust - brilliant!), surf gear and some clothing. There is scooter hire and transport readily available.
It is spacious and well laid out with large bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The pool is a great size. The breakfast provided every morning was substantial and adequate. On first inspection the villa is pretty imrpessive, but a 10 day stay revealed a few flaws.
Firstly, the a/c in the main living area did not work and was far too small to cool the area - opening the doors gave us a lovely cross breeze and we got a fan from the staff, however we could not close off access to the pool which is a concern when holidaying with children. It also meant that the main part of the house was unlocked most of the time. On first impression the villa looked very clean, but it was clear it was not actually maintained to a high standard. The pool house room and bathroom is quite luxurious but the bathroom is always damp which meant there was mold on the lower portion of the walls and the shower is floored with white rock - they were quite green and slimy by the end of our stay. None of this was cleaned during our stay. There was never enough toilet paper and towels/washers etc were removed to be cleaned but not replaced quickly.
The staff were lovely but it was not private. It took quite a while for them to do a basic room clean and as a result would be in main living areas at the same time as the family, they also walked in and out fairly frequently. It would certainly not be recommended for a honeymooning couple as there would be limited personal privacy. The staff had very limited english, so communication could be an issue.
The pool also required more maintaining than it received, although we could swim in it every day bar one when it was being cleaned. It was a bit green by day five. Another issue was that another villa is being built next door, which means there is a lot of noise which goes quite late into the evening. There are no top sheets on the beds, only thick doonas, and while the room a/c works very well, sheets are required. The pillows are also really, really fat and hard. The sheets were also not laundered in our 10 day stay.
Overall, the best feature is the location. The villa is adequate and quite impressive, but requires more upkeep and more privacy.

It was a perfect getaway for us. Villa Aamoda has an excellent layout, tastefully decorated, and just a couple of hundred meters from ECHO Beach. We loved it! We will be back next year.
