“My home away from home”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Got the room without air con and flat screen TV but I didn't miss it one bit. Staff and owners were wonderful and there seems to be some excitement throughout my whole stay.

It most the most relaxing place I could ask for. Woke up to a bright sun, breakfast of fruits and pancakes, dip in the pool, lounge, dip in the pool, lunch (local food from nearby warung), more lounging, dip. And that was my day! Had to be literally dragged out to explore Bali!

It is closed enough to Seminyak and Kuta and far enough from all the noise there is. Echo beach seafood fare was wonderful and we had perfected the tsunami evacuation drill!

The staff were friendly and helpful and always with a smile! And they will help you out and bend backwards for the guests.

Overall, I'll definitely be back again! Looking forward to the cafe when it is open!

The Voyager is an amazing place to stay to get away from it all. Its location is perfect, (not far from several great restaurants and from Echo Beach) and it is very peaceful.
Don and Justin are fantastic hosts - full of helpful information and very relaxed, which adds to the great vibe of staying here.
The villas are really incredibly unique, and the outdoor shower and bath are a fantastic touch to make you feel like you are staying in a unique luxury resort.
I would definately recommend staying at the Voyager, and I hope to go back again one day soon.

I loved Voyager.

It's intimate and feels really luxurious, and the people (fellow travellers, staff and Don and Justin who own the place) are great.

The rooms have mirrored glass walls - don't worry, you can't see through them, but it's lovely and romantic watching a storm through them at night. Some rooms have aircon and flat-screen TVs but all have super-comfortable beds and fun, quirky decorations. Loved the outdoor shower and bathtub.

The pool isn't huge but works for the size of place and is a lovely place to hang about in for an hour or so, as is the big communal breakfast table. Excellent breakfasts (the fruit salad is the best I've had here and great pancakes), decent wifi, and try looking in the gold pineapple if you have one on your desk.

It's out in the countryside backed by paddy fields, about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, though when I was there the sea was very rough, probably better for surfers. If you have a bike or motorbike you can get back into Seminyak on the back roads easily, and also to Echo Beach and various restaurants.

Basically, it's beautiful. I stayed twice, one as a couple and I liked it so much I came back to have somewhere nice to relax and get some work done over Nyepi (when Justin and Don were really kind and hospitable), and it was great for both.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are nice and most are fairly similar, but pick according to whether you want things...

Our stay at Voyager was so relaxing and comfortable that we had a feeling of staying actually at a private villa then a hotel. Beatufull big rooms with unique design, bathtubs at the back of each room, healthy breakfast and great location in the middle of rice fields. Highly recommended!

Voyager is set in a quiet location amongst rice paddie felds and farm land, close to the beach and a few quality restaurants. The setting promotes relaxation and you definitely get the feeling of getting away from it all. Just down the road is Echo beach which is a great surf beach (friendly enough to swim too) and there are some nice places to grab a bite to eat and watch the sunset. However, Voyager is still close enough to all the hustle and bustle that is Seminyak. A short scooter ride down the 'horse track' and you will find yourself in the middle of the action.

The villas and clean and arty (creative?), a little on the small side but the one way glass gives the impression of more space. All the essentials are provided and the outdoor shower is a great addition. The beds are confortable and a large flat screen is provided with movies (via USB stick). The wireless internet is also fast and reliable.

The gounds are kept lean and tidy, the pool is small but functional and adequate for the number of villas and the provided breakfast is great way to start the day - light, healthy and deliscious!

Don and Justin are good hosts and provided helpful information and all assistance needed/required. The local staff are fantastic and were always willing/able to assist. A special mention goes to the local driver Made - funny, informative, a genuily nice guy who is a very safe and patient driver (a skill that is important when trying to navigate local roads in heavy traffic) - make sure you use him for any longer trips that can't be ridden by scooter, you won't be dissapointed.

Voyager tended to attract well rounded travellers which added to the experience. The villas are set to promote guest interaction which is an added bonus when the guests are interesting and fun to interact with as they all were during our stay.

So if you are looking for a place to stay that is good value for money and provides everything you need for an 'escape' while still being close enough to jump back in then look no further than Voyager! We'll definitely come back when in Bali next...

The review is much appreciated and we're so happy to hear you enjoyed your time here. It was wonderful to have such amazing guests with us over Nyepi and hope that the Ogoh Ogoh parade and the quiet dark night was an unforgettable experience (We're going dark again tonight for Earth Hour, but it's by choice this time). I have taught Don how to play speed Scrabble ;) Enjoy the rest of your travels and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Kind Regards, Justin & Don

I stayed at the Voyager for two days in March and I loved every moment of it!
Leaving Seminyak and the noise behind and checking in at the Voyager was one of the highlights of my Bali trip. My standard room was great and tastefully decorated; lovely colours on the walls, the bed was comfortable, coffee/tea maker in the room and a great outdoor shower next to the bathroom. I was incredibly lazy on my Canggu trip – ordering in from Sticky Fingers on my first day there(thank you D&J), staying in to read and work a bit – the wifi is good in the room and better in the common area close to the kitchen. Breakfast was tasty, I had pancakes and fresh fruit, and the staff was always very friendly and incredibly helpful and considerate. I loved eating at the Om Lounge and Deus, the food was fresh and tasty, and the restaurants are only a walk away from the Voyager. If you are looking for an island experience in a beautiful, tasteful and comfortable setting – look no further! I loved my stay here and I would definitely come back to “heaven” on my next Bali trip!

Dear N, Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the peace and quiet that Canggu has to offer compared to the likes of Seminyak and Kuta (That's the reason why we're here in Canggu/Bali after all). The best part of being on holiday, is getting to be lazy - don't feel bad, enjoy it! Thanks for being a great guest and we look forward to welcoming you back to "heaven" soon. Justin & Don
