My wife and I have just returned from our Bali holiday feeling totally rejuvenated and refreshed. We choose this resort based on the Mr and Mrs Smith website review and the excellent reviews in this website. We choose Ametis as we wanted to simply relax and recharge away from the tourist traps of Kuta and this was certainly the right place. The private villas and infinity pool are amazing with everything available even WiFi if you feel you need to send an email of two. The Bulter Cahyadi we had for the duration was brilliant and drove us all over the countryside with a daytrip to Ubud which is highly recommended, his local knowledge is a huge bonus and nothing was ever to much for him 24/7. My wife wanted to purchase an architectural book found in each villa, Cahyadi somehow found a bookshop and drove goodness knows how many miles to collect it just before we checked out, amazing. The cooking class with chef Maleachi was awesome and most enjoyable, the course included a visit to the local market to familiarise ourselves with the local food. We certainly learned a lot about Balinese food and I hope my sambals and pepes are as good as his. The food is of a very high standard at Ametis and the daily canapes and cocktails was an added bonus, oh great coffee too. All the staff are super friendly and always ready to help. I will certaily return and I trust the high standard and attention to detail by Manager Akiko and her staff will continue to impress all who visit. I strongly recommend the airport arrival service this saved us many hours queing for visas etc. I will certainly be recommending Ametis to local travel agents in Oz.

Room Tip: All villas are awesome

I admit that I can be a difficult customer with high standards.
Our stay at the Ametis Villas was based on the tripadvisor reviews and it did not disappoint.
The villa felt like home and the level of privacy was excellent.
All the staff were very keen to ensure we had the perfect stay.
Top marks for Adi who managed to anticipate our needs without being intrusive.
Well done to Akiko Yoshioka who manages to keep standards high and have an eye for detail and a focus on improving the customer experience.
Very fond memories and the best recommendation is that we look forward to returning.

Room Tip: All the villas appeared to be at the same high standards

We've just come back from staying in the Aquamarine villa for 4 nights and have never felt so refreshed and relaxed after a holiday.

The location of the Ametis is a little off the beaten track and took around 40 minutes from the airport by taxi. We later found out that our butler-to-be Pasek had tried to email us to find out our flight times so that he could arrange a car to collect us, but we'd missed the email...

The villas themselves are beautifully appointed and have the most gorgeous private pool. The furnishings are traditionally Balinese but with all mod cons. Our bedroom had a mini fridge with a selection of complimentary drinks and snacks that were refilled every day.

Nothing was too much trouble for our butler Pasek. All our whims and wishes were catered for quickly and carefully, included breakfast in our villa on a couple of occasions.

We spent a day seeing some of the real Bali, accompanied by drive Jaya and Pasek, both of whom were very knowledgeable about the sights and great company.

We ate in the restaurant a couple of times for dinner and the food was really, really good. The pork ribs were just divine!

We had a couple of treatments in the spa which, again, were just perfection, and really good value too.

I'd like to be able to give some constructive criticism but we can't think of anything that could improve the Ametis experience.

We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Room Tip: Our aquamarine villa was next to a couple of others but we certainly didn't get affected by noise from them

After much deliberation, choosing an hotel lately for me and my wife has become more complicated than buying a car, we choose Ametis Villa for our stay in Bali.
The hotel itself was difficult to find on the usual websites we use for our search, but eventually we found it on the specialty lodging on tripadvisor.

The overall experience was amazing, even if the weather was not cooperating (rained all the time), from the arrival (we choose the assisted arrival to speed through custom) to the stay in the villa, to the one day tour to Ubud, to our departure.

Pasek, our personal butler (and here is my first suggestion to the management: "drop the title personal butler and use personal assistant instead") greeted us outside the airport and from that moment on we were well taken care of, available to all our request, but never in your face. You are a star Pasek!!

The property is situated close to echo beach (5 minutes) and canggu beach (2 minutes walk) in a very quiet and nice area but at the same time not in the middle of nowhere.
A good balance.

Our villa, Topas, was wonderfully designed and very spacious (350sqm).
It had two main buildings, one for bedroom and bathroom and one for leaving space, the two connected by the swimmingpool and a garden.
And all possible gadgets at our disposal.

We are very picky for what concerns design and details and we were inspired by the stylish but not over the top interiors.

The one day trip around the island reinforced our good feeling about the organization, being very flexible and tailored to our wishes.

The spa was on the level of everything else, with great massage and relaxing atmosphere.

The restaurant and the bar on the other hand could be improved (not knowing how to make a Classic Martini was surprising) and communication in the restaurant was somewhat confusing if Pasek was not around.

We would love to stay at Ametis Villa again!

Dear Xavier__Andrea,

Thank you very much for taking time to write precious review.

We very appreciate your valued comments towards naming of butler position and restaurant.

You are right, and I am very happy to hear" Personal Assistant", which is exactly what we expect- butler to become Personal Assistant during guests' holiday in Bali.

The title " Butler" that we borrowed from original Butler is to make the market easily understand their position. However the true meaning and function of butler at Ametis Villa is personal assistant or head of household in each villa to make guest feel totally relaxed and at home.

Regarding the restaurant, I am sincerely apologize that we made you embarrassed. We will keep upgrade the service of restaurant side.

Again, thank you for your valued comments and I am sure to treasure your comments for our improvement.

We all look forward to welcoming you back again to Ametis Villa.
Please stay healthy and keep in touch.

Warm regards,
Akiko

We stayed at Ametis Villas for 7 nights over Christmas, we absoluetly loved it! The accommodaiton, size of villas and quality of service, was wonderful. Our butler Teo was truly fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Our pool was heaven.
We loved the location as it was away from the kaos of Seminyak or Kuta. But if you wanted to go into Smeinyak for dinner or shopping your butler just took you.
Only downer appears to be that the price per night for 2012 seems to have gone up a fair bit on what we paid . . . . . .
