The Neyyar Dam is a good site to visit but only if you are lucky to get boat on time.

They have only one boat with capacity of 23 people. Once the boat is full you have to wait for 90 minutes till you have the next round.

Lion safari is having just 1 lion and 2 lioness, Deer park have huge cage with few deer, which you have to spot.

Coffee shop is usually closed and there is no other option for even drinking water, so you have to plan accordingly

Lovely day out when staying near Kovalam. Speed boat trip on the lake enabled us to see wild elephants and other wildlife close up whilst not distrubing them.

My daughter wanted to see Lions and elephants and this is what she got! The elephant sanctuary was a wonderful drive through rubber plantations and remote villages. We also saw the crocodiles at the dam.

When we visited, the boat was under maintenance and we were asked to wait for the bus for a long time for lion safari.
Finally, we dropped the idea of lion safari and went on boating by ourselves paying Rs.620/=. We were 4 people only including 2 children but were charged for 8 people saying that is minimum.
Boat ride was enjoyable but we couldn't find any animals on the way except water crows.
Elephant ride in the nearby location was enjoyable. Children could feed the elephants. We need to buy the food paying Rs.100/= per plate.
