“Gross”

We were desperate for a basic bacon and egg breakfast on our last day here. Since the Moose is Loose was closed on Monday we sadley stopped here. So the outside looks cute but once you walk in you are hit with an odor....There was not a host to greet you just two older folks that needed a shower and a smile. After we stood there for about 5 minutes, one of the servers turned to us and said "well come on!" and showed us to a table that had duct taped seats on both sides. Any normal person would leave but I guess we hoped it would get better. The food was just okay but we would not be back and would not recommend. It's is too bad because it is easy to spot and convenient to get to. Bleck.

“Ok food with roller coaster service”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We went here 3 times when we were in town, mostly because we wanted a traditional breakfast.
The first time we went the service was prompt and the food was good. The second time the service was VERY slow, in fact after our order was taken they had lost it. When we finally got part of our food the eggs I had ordered over hard were not cooked at all (very runny) and they didn't bring our toast or bother to refill coffee. I get when you're busy things like losing orders or slow service are expected sometimes, but not getting the full order and having it pretty much thrown on the table is a bit much. I'm a firm believer that everyone or place has a bad day, so we gave this place a third try. This time around it was closer to the first visit prompt service with good food. This time we had the same waitress as the time before when we had issues. It seems to be a family owned place that's kept clean and the locals probably frequent it. The food was overall average, but in a good way and the service seemed overall spotty. I put the service at poor because a server should not come to take your order while looking at or texting on their phone regardless of how slow or busy it is. Would I visit this place again? Probably, unless there was a similar restaurant closer to where I was staying.

“What was that?”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We ate at the Caribou in Soldotna on Friday night, July 7, 2013, Table D 10, since I really enjoy Prime Rib. When the plate came out the meat was at least 1 inch thick, but that is where it all ended. Trying to cut the meat was more then a challenge, and the first bite, it looked like they prepared it on top of a chimney. The meat was so tough, that it was almost impossible to cut, and also chew. There was absolutely no flavor to the meat, might as well of chewed on a piece of cardboard. The potatoes where from a box, and the gravy was from a Campbell's can, and the vegetables were cold and out of a can. For $24.95 this was the worst Prime Rib I have ever tried to eat. Tried to convince my friend to oder it also, but they stuck with a hamburger, and that was good.

“Good food, good value”

Quick service, good food, good value, good portions. Coffee was great! Appeared to be a local gathering spot, we liked that.
