“Great fishing experience in Alaska!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We went fishing for first time in Alaska the week of June 16 with Alaska Fishing & Lodging. We had the best time there with Damond and Tyle. We had no experience of fishing and didn't know any cie there. We check the reviews and finally choose the best cie and guides. We will recommend them without any hesitation. Very happy of our experience there.

Thank you so much again to Damond and Tylan for the great time with had with you and hope we'll have a chance to go back again!

Dianne & Luc

A buddy and I stayed here over memorial weekend. The cabins are really nice and super clean. National wildlife just implemented a catch and release on the Kenai river when we were staying there. Ty gave us some extra fish to take home. The second day we went out on the ocean and had a great day catching halibut and cod. It was a little early for the kings. I would definitely recommend staying here. Ty is a gracious host and was a available 24/7 to help us. He also packed, boxed, and froze our fish. I called other places and know one wanted to work with us with our schedules. Ty was the only place that catered to our schedule and gave us a really good rate. Definitely recommend!

If you enjoy the great outdoors, like to Fish, Camp and Ride Motorcycles I recommend you begin planning your trip. Our Journey began with a desire to Fish Alaska’s Rivers for Trout and Salmon on the Kenai Peninsula, well over 15 years ago. With a young family, deployments and limited leave “time off”. Making this journey would have to wait until 2012. On 19 July 2012 three pairs of fathers and sons set off for a trip of a lifetime. After Months of Planning we flew into Anchorage Alaska. Made our way to MotoQuest of Anchorage, our Motorcycle Rental Agency and began rigging out our bikes. That Saturday we departed for Soldotna, AK. We had Reservations set for a guided fishing expedition Sunday afternoon with Alaska Fishing and Lodging to fish for Sockeye Salmon on the Kenai River. As our Reservation time arrived our six man fishing party was eager to begin our adventure at Mile14 in Alaska. Our Guides met us at the boat ramp of Stewarts Landing. Both Ty and Adam were experienced, very well informed and professional. They immediately provided us with our Knee boots. We split the party between the two boats and fishing gear. The consummate pros, they proceeded to conduct a safety brief. Highlighting locations of life vests and safety equipment of the vessels. They emphasized safety while traveling in small boats and the 45 degree fast running Kenai River. And just what it can do if a person were to fall out of the boat... Upon arrival at the Fishing site, a short introduction on how to work the fishing rig for best results was shown to our group. The Glacial water was cold and cloudy and the current very strong. The lack of visibility clearly gave the illusion that no fish would be in the river at all. Our concerns were put to rest quickly. And as hoped within a minute of lines in the water we had our first fish hooked and the game was on. We spent the next three hours working hooks, catching fish and easily achieving our legal catch limit. Doubles were not uncommon, nor were three or four fish on at one time. This prompted our party and fellow anglers to assist one another with the landing of any fish that happened along our path. Watching the netting of these fish actually was quite hilarious as anglers tried to step over rocks and snags only to be knocked on their rear due to currents or unseen objects. The camaraderie for this day’s expedition was one that set the tone for the coming days of our Alaskan Fishing Adventure. All of our fishing party had great success fishing the Kenai River. No doubt due to Ty and Adam of Alaska Fishing and Lodging.

If you are interested in fishing the Kenai River, get in touch with Ty. He will take great care of you. If you have a specific location or type of fishing adventure that you wish to experience? Call him. He will be happy to discuss the many options available to anglers. He will provide you with a trip of a lifetime….

I have been fishing with Tyland since 2002 and the trips just keep getting better. This year (2012) I was concerned because the King run was shut down, but Ty assured me that the Sockeye fishing would be great. I had no idea just how right he would be. The four of us limited out on HUGE Sockeye every day the entire trip. More impressive than the fishing was the way Tyland and Damon took care of my father (74 years old) and my friend's father (82 years old). They made sure that they were safe, had a great time and caught their limits of fish. If you are going to invest in a trip to Alaska, be sure to get the best for you money. Fish with Ty and Damon at Alaska Fishing and Lodging!

My son (15 years old) and I spent 5 days with Ty and Damon, we went fishing 3 days with Damon, 1 day with Ty and 1 day Halibut fishing. This is our third time going to Alaska for fishing and by far our best trip. We came back home yesterday with 100 pounds of Salmon and 20 pounds of Halibut.
The cabins are very well maintained and have all comfort including televison. Damon is simply an awesome guide with tremendous experience. He has been fishing the Kenai since 1964 and will give you an experience of a lifetime, going beyond his call of duty to get you hooked up and share his passion. Ty is also a very passionate guide and us running the show. He is very honest, direct and will also give you the best deal possible. Ty also has a fish processing room on the property so the fish is cleaned, frozen and boxed on site, which saves a lot of money. Great all around experience, and we are going to book again for next year.

We spent a half day with Tyland Vanlier, fishing for sockeye salmon. He is a wonderful, extremely experienced guide. This was a first-time experience for us, but he got us to a good part of the river and coached us to catch our limit of 6 fish in a half-day trip. Ty provided all of our gear, and also did a good job of getting our fish processed and frozen for our trip back to Texas. We did not stay at his lodge, although it looked very attractive when we visited to pick up our fish.

My wife and I spent our 5th Anniversary and our first vacation in Alaska with Tyland and Damon and we had a great time. Ty is a man of spirt, passion for the sport, and a love for the Kenia River. Ty is a man of integrity and a great host. Damon's (Ty's right hand man) has a wonderful knowledge of fishing and fly fishing. He is very patient with you and eager to show you the ropes.

Our cabin was clean, comfortable and all the amenities were provided for us. We were scheduled with two Halibut Charters and both were great outings and we caught alot of fish. Ty knows his business and he knows his customers, there's no doubt we will be back. My wife and I are already planing our 2013 trip for more fishing with Tyland and his crew.
