“A fantastic adventure tour in Petersburg Alaska”
Reviewed August 5, 2011

My wife and I found Tongass Kayak Adventures when we searched for Alaska Kayaking. Located in Petersburg, a busy fishing village, which is nestled into the northern end of Mitkof Island in the inside passage, Tongass Kayak Adventures is run by Scott Roberge and he operates in a very efficient and safety conscious manner. Everything happens just as planned and on time. Scott employs young tour guides who are personable, competent and knowledgeable about the local environment. We went on the full-day kayak tour to LeConte Bay where we paddled into the bay, negotiating icebergs until we were able to easily see the face of the LeConte glacier. Our tour guides were Andrew and Alex who ably instructed us in the safe use of kayaks and passed on their detailed knowledge of the glacier. Although physically tired at the end of the day, we were exhilarated by the experience. The next day we went on the Three Lakes half-day hike and Andrew proved to be a very knowledgeable source of botanical information and also pointed out evidence of local fauna such as bear, moose, beaver and deer. Although it was a drizzly morning we thoroughly enjoyed the hike. We would recommend Tongass Kayak Adventures to anyone wanting that special Alaska experience.

“Great Day Kayaking trip to the wilderness”
Reviewed June 29, 2009

We took a guided, four-hour trip from the Petersburg harbor, across Wrangell Narrows to the Petersburg Creek Wilderness area. The paddle was easy, traveling with the incoming tide up to our destination where our guide served up a great snack on the beach during our break ashore. Salmon were running up the stream in schools right below the kayaks. The tide changed and we paddled back to Petersburg.
