“Great Place to Stay”

The friendly staff picked us up at the airport and gave us a small tour of the beautiful town. When we arrived at the hotel they helped carry our bags to our room. We had a room over looking the water and it was wonderful to wake up and go to bed to a breath taking view of the water and the stars. The mattress were new and very comfortable. They served Hot Waffles in the morning for their breakfast. They were Yummy!!! I would stay here again for sure!!! Thank you all for a wonderful time in your town!!!

Room Tip: Comfy beds!!

I stayed in Petersburg for 3 nights and the staff was wonderful. I have read reviews warning get the outer waterfront view rooms since will be looking at a wall. Yes I was looking at a wall but for me a room is to sleep and bath and especially a gem of a village like Petersburg. The furniture was dated, the table in the room was held together by 4 - L brackets, TV was good and great selection. Bathroom was a bathroom, no mold. The internet was temperamental, would work sometimes then others not. I did not have a car with me but parking is limited about 3 spaces and then curb parking. They have an Avis car rental service in the motel. It is not the Ritz but the staff made you feel like it was.

Room Tip: There is no air but for a couple of nights used the heat in August. Split level design lots of stair...

This place is a dive. The décor is from the 70s and still has bedspreads. The carpet is worn out. The hallways can be very noisy from fishermen partying.

The view rooms do have a mini fridg and microwave. Would not recommend.

Room Tip: If you do stay here, ask for a view room. They are the "nicest."

I had read some other reviews and was not looking forward to our stay but I found the hotel to be ok. The people who worked there provided excellent service and the rooms were ok considering the location. People who come to Alaska and expect the Ritz should stay home and go to the mall.

Stayed the last two days of a four day stay in Petersburg. Management was very helpful and even got us a free taxi in the wee-hours to catch our ferry. Room was a great deal for the money. It was also nice to be a block up the hill and more in the neighborhood.

Knowledgeable, friendly, clean and welcoming, the Tides inn was a joy to spend time in while not working on the fishing boats. Too many days and rooms to count, each one a great night sleep with a friendly staff to greet you for a delightful breakfast. Cant wait to go back!

I just spent the month of March in Petersburg doing Construction work.
Along with my crew, four others, we stayed at the Tides Inn.
Everything about the stay was a good experience.
The rooms were clean and quiet, the breakfast was standard cerial and breads + waffles.
All of the staff were great, they even cooked us dinner a few nights.
I have another job in Petersburg next fall and this is where I will stay.
They are also the local AVIS car rental.

Room Tip: The waterfront rooms are worth the extra for the view.
