Kodiak Island Resort is top notch. This was without a doubt the best fishing experience we have ever had. We were on the bay fishing for Halibut an hour after we landed, and came back around five when our arms were too sore to reel in any more fish. Every one of us limited out on Halibut (two were fifty pounders) that day and every other day of the trip.
When we were settled back in the lodge, April started us out with O'dourves including Halibut Gravlax on the veranda overlooking Larson Bay. Dinner started with a nice romaine and hearts of palm salad, then moved onto the entree consisting of crab stuffed Halibut in a lemon buer blanc over a sun dried tomato cous cous and steamed rutabaga. Dessert was lavender infused flan.
The highlight of my trip was bringing in a one hundred and fifteen pound halibut, what a fight it put up. Thanks to Al, April, Joe, Rafe, Chris, and Bull for a wonderful trip.
