This was a well organized and delightful adventure - a lot of driving - some 120 miles total, if memory serves. Perhaps people drawn to Jeeps having a burning desire to do off-road, but I wasn't among them. Bouncing about on dusty, and difficult/dubious terrain, seemed a strange way to spend our very limited time, I would have much preferred to spend a bit more time perusing one of the better small town General Stores in recent memory, in the town of Carcross - a wide place in the Yukon road, and the turnaround point for this excursion. Nowhere in any of the four towns our cruise visited was there such a fine collection of native crafts and gift objects. The lead and tail jeeps were driven by employees that were extremely engaging, competent, and fun to be with. We felt we got a chance to see a LOT of the surrounding country and recommend it highly. - Brian Berardo, 7/15/2013

We did this trip as part of our Alaskan Cruise. After a half an hour bus ride up to the lake we were met by our very nice guide Conner. It was a rainy day so besides life jackets and paddles we were given ponchos to wear. We then boarded the canoe and paddled around the lake while Connor told us about the native plants and trees. We stopped to see a sundew plant while in the canoe. Then we disembarked at a "camp" for a very short but informative nature hike. We then had a snack of seafood chowder (made by Erica over the campfire), smoked salmon, rolls, jam and drinks. Then back in the canoe to finish the ride. This was a very excellent trip on a pristine mountain lake with lots of great information about the rainforest. Enjoyed by all of us.

Do not pass up this opportunity to see the Yukon from a completely different view, and an incredible view it is! We met some great people and shared a wonderful adventure through incredible scenery. I had hesitated to include this on our family trip because of the cost but am very glad we went this route. Literally.

All this amounts to is a ride in a 4x4 on 2 bumpy roads that lead to nowhere! If you think your going 4 wheeling, forget it! Your going to follow in a single line about 20-30 MPH on roads and 5 MPH off road. The highlight of the narrated trip by CB Radio is the pointed out Hydro Power Lines! They were mentioned repeatedly. The last stop is the canoe ride that you must paddle a short distance across a lake where you lunch is waiting along with all the bugs. They do offer you bug spray, take it, it seem the bugs had big teeth....Lunch was Salmon on a banana leaf, it was OK, but dry... The best item was the hot chocolate, then a race back to the 4x4 to end the tour... I couldn't paddle fast enough..... Oh yea, get ready to hear yeee haw your whole journey! Donate your money to animal abuse or give it to the homeless, it would be much more fulfilling!

Thank you for the feedback on our excursion, we are always looking for ways to improve our product. We stand by our policy for safe speeds on the roads, as we will never sacrifice our guest's safety for the sake of enjoyment.

We train our guides to cover multiple topics in our narration, including flora, fauna, culture, and history of Southeast Alaska. We have reviewed our narrative content with all guides, and expect better results in the future.

We don't normally experience problems with bugs out at our site, but we're glad to hear that bug spray was offered! It has been unusually warm and dry so far this summer, so the bugs have been out and about way more than usual.

We're sorry to see that a clearly unusable spare tire was on the jeep. As soon as the spare was brought to the management's attention, it was replaced. In the future, we will be sure to have such a spare replaced immediately. We also carry usable spares on several Jeeps in the convoy in the event one of the Jeeps gets a flat.

Once again, thank you for the input, we see this as an opportunity to improve our excursion, as customer safety and satisfaction are our most important goals.

Went on Backcountry adventure 4x4 driving in Keitchacan Alaska. First time using a 4x4 Jeep. on logging roads. My teenage daughter and son really enjoyed the ride. I was not sure it would be exciting enough but it was. I will do this again.
