“Noisy Friday night”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We stayed one night in the main hotel before our cruise. Very nice hotel staff member picked us up promptly at the ferry from the airport. All rooms in the main hotel are on the second floor above O'Neil's Pub and Eatery. Be aware that there is no elevator, and the inside staircase is very steep. Stairs on outside of the building were easier to climb. Our room was small, clean, and furnished with old golden oak pieces. There is a small lobby on the ground floor, and it is not staffed. You can reach a staff member by calling on the phone in the lobby or from your room. I chose this location to be in the center of town near restaurants and the harbor, so I did expect ambient street noise. However, the very loud live band playing at O'Neil's downstairs on Friday night was intolerable to us two travelers who just wanted to get to sleep. I called and left a voice mail to complain about the noise, and was called back after about an hour with the answer that they could not do anything. Staff member was apologetic next morning at checkout, and offered to refund part of our hotel fee as compensation for the noise.

Room Tip: Rooms above O'Neil's may be very noisy. See if they have any rooms in their other properties...

Just spent three nights in Ketchikan at the Inn. We had a comfortable apartment with full kitchen. It could sleep four, with a queen bed in one room and sofa bed in the lounge. The location is perfect, right in the center of town. There are plenty of great places to eat nearby, including O'Briens Pub which is adjacent to the hotel. Best of all was the friendly service provided by Jose and Jessica, who cheerfully ferried us to and from activities and transportation. They helped make our vacation easy and interesting. Our thanks to them.

If you find yourself in Ketchikan Alaska, this is the place. Turn of the (last) century funky charm with a great staff! Shuttle service from the airport and ferry, attached to a great bar. The rooms are a little small but very well appointed. I felt like I was back in the 1890's (with all the good 21st century stuff)

We booked a loft room and we were totally impressed when we arrived! Clean and comfortable! It was a great space with shabby chic furniture antique mixed with a new kitchenette including stainless steel fridge. Jacuzzi tub was a fantastic surprise! Loved the red velvet curtain!!

a great spiral staircase takes you up to the loft, again nicely decorated and a comfy bed.

Lots of windows offer beautiful light. The view from deck over the creek is fabulous - we were welcomed by a friendly seal. The deck was the perfect spot for a glass of wine in the late evening and coffee in the morning.

We stayed on a romantic weekend getaway but it would also be great for a family stay. Loved that we were staying in a room with so much history - was fun to make up stories about who had stayed before us...

Our new favourite getaway in Ketchikan!

Room Tip: Take a room on the creek!

We rented a room called the "wharf" it is what the staff called "Ketchikan Chic" kinda shabby looking outside, but beautiful and spacious inside with a full kitchen, 2 pull out couches & two bedrooms. WILL be staying here again.

Room Tip: Big families or sharing with friends, the Wharf room is great!

Had the pleasure of spending two nights in this charming, turn of the century hotel. The good: great view, nice people, right next to creek street and a really short walk downtown. O'Brien's grill next door has the best salmon balls on the planet and really good food and a great staff. Bathroom is beautiful and fully modern which is nice. The bad: tall flight of stairs to get to rooms, not for the mobility challenged. Room did not have a fan and we arrived on the hottest day of the year (83 degrees), incredibly stuffy and hot room, staff probably should have realized this ahead of time. We asked for a fan and one of the managers bought us one which was nice. If you have a vehicle parking can be an issue as the hotel does not have a parking lot and street parking is only 2hrs in front of the hotel.

All in all, we would stay here again.

Very centrally located. Easy to get around. Jose met at us ferry as promised, could not have been more helpful. Very clean, very comfortable. Met nice people every time we went through lobby. Loved our stay here! Would recommend this highly!
