Owner description: We offer 2 Hour, 3 Hour and Private Custom Tours in small groups of 11 guests or less in beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska. Enjoy our eco tour including nature walk and hiking expeditions in the lush rainforest. Venture out among the giant Sitka Spruce, Hemlock and Cedar trees and walk along a cascading creek to a rushing waterfall on trails in the Tongass National Forest. Escape from the crowds, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the natural beauty of our nations largest national forest. Next journey to a Totem Park, where you will see magnificent Totem Poles and a Clan House. Your local native guide will share their heritage and stories about the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian Alaska Native people. This is a family friendly tour - ask about our scavenger hunt or try geocaching. We strive to provide a quality personal experience. Our tours include pick up at cruise ship dock, bottled water and Alaska style snack.

Tracy was at the end of the gangplank early with a Wild Wolf Tours sign and a check in clipboard, a clear sign that this would be a professionally executed excursion. We were two couples in our early sixties and reasonably physically fit. Another family of four with no children joined us. The van was in excellent condition, comfortable and clean. Tracy is knowledgeable, informative and entertaining. We scheduled a moderate hike and it was exactly as described. We were able to view totem poles and hike an area of the rain forest. We had an absolutely beautiful day, cool but sunny. The only possible drawback is that our cruise line (Holland America) did not schedule very much time in Ketchikan so there was little time left to visit in town.
I highly recommend Wild Wolf Tours. It was our best shore excursion by far!

This is a tour of two must-dos of Ketchikan with a local who loves the town. I can't imagine going through the Totem Pole Park without guide to tell the stories --- and Tracy is a great story teller!

As soon as we docked in Ketchikan I could see the Wild Wolf mini bus from our balcony and Tracey was waiting at the bottom of the gangway as we got off the ship. The bus was brand new, clean and air conditioned. We were a party of 5 ( 1 four year old, 2 twenty one year olds and us 30 something's) two other couples joined us.

We went straight to the forest and Tracey engaged us straight away with stories and tales of her ancestors on the way. She has a great voice for storytelling and the microphone in the bus meant everyone could hear her. She provided scavenger hunt sheets whilst in the forest and pointed out all the flora and fauna. My 4 year old was totally engaged the whole time. She also had a small gps device with her so we took part in some geocache which was fun.

We then went to the totem pole park which was lovely, Tracy told native stories and really brought the whole thing alive.

In summary we, loved getting away from the cruise crowds and jewellery shops of the ports and getting a chance to stretch our legs after a week on the cruise ship. Defiantly worth doing, great value compared with the cruise ship excursions.

I was travelling with a large party of twelve - ages ranging from 8 to 72 - and we all had a good time. Nancy was very knowledgeable about the island and the history of the people there. She also did an excellent job of engaging the three children in our group (8 - 12). The nature walk was a fairly easy hike, and it was exciting to see the salmon. The totem park was amazing, made more so by the stories that Nancy shared. Highly recommended.

Tracy was waiting for us on the dock and whisked us away from the Ketchikan crowds to explore a less crowded Ketchikan. In addition to her very informative narration, she welcomed our many questions. If there's something specific you want to see, let her know so she can create your personalized agenda. Unfortunately, many of the sights are spread out (it is nature after all) the 3-4 hours goes quickly. Next time I would schedule a longer tour. I highly recommend Wild Wolf Tours.
