Owner description: Southeast Exposure Ketchikan - Kayaking, Zipline & Zodiac Boat Tours. Welcome to Southeast Exposure. We started taking Kayaking Tours in 1986 from our home in downtown Ketchikan. Kayaks soon took over the yard. In 2005 we moved our operation north to beautiful Clover Pass, three miles from the end of the road. The protected waters here are dotted with evergreen islands. To realize our dream of having a zipline course and move the kayak tours away from the floatplanes, large boats, wind and the noise of the waters of downtown, we purchased an estate and started to renovate and add. We built a zipline course with 8 lines in the big cedars and installed transition elements as well as a zipline that zooms down to an ocean platform. We also installed an optional climbing wall with stairs to climb to the top platform. We support our Tatoosh Islands and Misty Fiords kayak tours with three vessels: Two 24’ Rigid Hulled inflatables (RIBs) and a 24’ landing craft. Our Zodiac Boatman Tour features three custom built 14’ rigid hulled boats. The kayak fleet would never fit anywhere in our two previous locations. What will you see out here in Clover Pass? Islands ringed by protected waters Seals, sea lions, eagles, intertidal life, jumping salmon, deer and possibly orcas on the hunt and transiting humpback whales.

Our trip to Alaska included activities and excursions but the one that none of us had tried was sea kayaking. Nervous and excited we showed up not knowing what to expect. Our guides were amazing! They baby stepped the new kayakers without holding back those with experience. My teenagers and I loved this adventure, and the seal, eagle families and ocean creatures we saw would not have been that accessible by any other means. I would recommend the excursions this company provides to anyone who wants to interact with the amazing habitats in Alaska.

“Excellent!book this!!”

We were in a group of 8 mostly aged about 45-50 ish. Some younger, some highly experienced - Australian park rangers no less, the three
guides that came along with us were so lovely and considerate, making sure everyone was OK and safe. They were knowledgeable and took time to point out starfish (on rocks) and eagles nesting. This was a lovely trip, a beautiful day on a gorgeous lake.

“Great fun and super staff!”

We signed up to zipline here on our Alaskan cruise. We had great weather, saw Bald Eagles right above our heads and our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable even though the jokes were horrid :-D. I highly recommend Southeast Exposure. Jeff and Colton did a great job!

“Zip line adventure park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We spent a few hours on the zip line course. They met us at the pier and drove us to the park. It was a perfect mix of zip line and challenge ropes. They also had a climbing wall. The guides were very friendly and were very thorough in their safety measures. We opted for the helmet camera-a good choice. The guides made sure the camera was on. We got many good pictures and had a great time zipping over the water and back to land. Highly recommend!!

“Outstanding - the highlight of our trip to Alaska”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014

We lucked out and had a beautiful day for kayaking around the Tatoosh Islands. We saw seals, humpback whales, mink, eagles, orcas.
The staff at Southeast were fantastic. Fun, friendly, professional and experienced. The equipment was in excellent condition.
I highly recommend experiencing the kayak trip, especially with such a great crew.
