Owner description: AAA Sportfishing Company offers sportfishing near Ketchikan Alaska. We fish for Salmon and Halibut and many other species in the protected waters of the inside passage. No rough seas! Cruise ship customers are our specialty. Capt. Jerry will meet you at your ship and we will depart immediately by boat to the fishing ground. A private and exclusive experience leaving you time to look around town before re boarding your ship. Beautiful scenery, wildlife and marine mammals are sighted while you fish. We have never had a client miss their ship and we never will. Capt. Jerry is 54 years old and will personally be taking you out on charter. He has been fishing his entire life and holds a 100 ton coast guard masters license. Capt. Jerry will keep you entertained while you fish answering all your questions about the area and points of interest.

Captain Jerry makes sure that you have a good time, and goes to great lengths to make sure that you catch fish.....good day for fishing or not! Makes sure that you have a good time, and even see wildlife too. Eagles were amazing! Much less expensive than ship's excursions too and can have the boat to your family only!

We booked a July 3, 2013 afternoon salmon trip with Jerry. Jerry was prompt meeting us right at the docks where our cruise ship was docked so literally a 2 minute walk. We got aboard his boat and as we left port he gave us our option. We could fish a less scenic area where there would be a lot more boats but he was honest that those boats had caught a few more fish than his morning trip OR we could fish where he had that morning which was more scenic, a little quieter and they had seen some incredible wild life. We chose option two and I couldn’t be happier. In our short 4 hour guided trip with Jerry we hooked 24 salmon and landed 18 of them. We caught pink, chum, king and silver salmon (which Jerry said was incredible as they didn’t usually run until late August). While there were no “monsters” caught on our trip (my son did catch a 20lbs chum) all of the fish we caught were of pretty decent size. Not only did we catch fish, Jerry had some great stories and we saw humpback whales and bald eagles. Our trip with Jerry could not have been any better (unless my son would have landed those last 3 fish ;o ) Jerry worked his rear off for us, setting things up and landing fish. At one point all 3 of us in the boat had a fish on the line. Jerry is very knowledgeable about his craft and an avid hunter. So if you are looking for a great guide and good time then Jerry is your man!!

My husband and I pre-booked a Ketchikan Salmon Fishing trip with Jerry Meacham and went out on July 3, 2013. He took us out and along with way, he pointed out a family of Orca whales, which could have meant a bad day for Salmon fishing since that's what they eat.
However, while we watched many, many other boats just drifting along and not catching anything, Jerry is truly expert at finding the fish! We caught 15 good size Pink, Silver, and King Salmon combined and he even took all of our catch to the processors for flash freezing and sending home for us.
The Salmon catch actually came in second compared to Jerry's stories, knowledge, and great personality! He truly was such a fun and happy person to be with for 4 1/2 hours that we definately plan to go out with him again next year when we return to Alaska.
He is very much in demand so book early!

We booked during the very early part of the King Salmon run and fishing was a bit slow. Jerry let us know beforehand that this may be the case. He worked very hard to find the best spots. Catch was small (for all boats that day) but with lots of stories, eagles, starfish, stunning scenery, and travel recommendations in Alaska, he managed to entertain us all, including the three year old grandson who was fascinated by the Rockfish that we caught. His prices were much better that the cruise, and he was prompt and reliable. Thanks Jerry!

I called & left a message to try and book a fishing trip with Capt Jerry while our cruise ship is docked there in May. Capt. Jerry quickly returned my call and was very polite to me. Capt. Jerry advised me that the fishing in early May would NOT be very good and that he wouldnt book a trip or take our money unless he felt as though it would be a good fishing trip for us. I HIGHLY respect a man & business owner that refuses to take a customers money until he feels confident in being able to deliver a quality trip resulting in satisfied customers. I will be booking fishing trips with Capt Jerry on our return trip to Ketchikan in the future.
