Description: The Alaska Fish House is easily Ketchikan's first choice for fresh Alaskan seafood. Visit us at the end of Main Street, just a short walk from the cruise ship docks. Enjoy gourmet seafood dining next to the most historic fishing fleet in Ketchikan. Try a complimentary sample of our delicious smoked salmon corn bread while ordering from our menu featuring alder-grilled salmon, halibut & chips, crab, and our famous smoked salmon chowder. Ship home the same smoked salmon that we feature on our menu.

I was really disappointed with this place, although it did have a nice view from the seating area. The salmon and halibut tacos barely had any fish in them and were not tasty. The salmon cornbread wasn't good and didn't taste like salmon at all. The highlight of the meal was the salmon chowder which was very good.

The service was okay. The girl taking our order wasn't friendly, but it was pretty crowded when we were there.

I would maybe go back for the salmon chowder, but definitely wouldn't get any fish sandwiches or tacos. This place is expensive, like any of the restaurants by the cruise docks in Alaska, but the tacos we had were just sad. I'll probably try a different food place next time I'm in Ketchikan.

This place was recommended by a bunch of locals so we decided to check it out. We were very pleased that it didn't seem to be the tourist trap crowded with cruisers. The view was nice...straight out to the docks. It's an order at the counter place which worked for us...no fuss. We ordered Salmon Chowder, Salmon & Chips, and Halibut & Chips. Everyone was pleased. The salmon was light and moist on the inside with a nice crispy bread coating. The fries were sprinkled with a bbq seasoning...some of us loved it and some of use didn't...just depends if you are a bbq fan or not. We all agreed that the coleslaw was amazing. Crisp, fresh, tangy...it wasn't the normal drowending in mayo...but instead it was a vinegar base with cilantro and lemon undertones. Really yummy. Overall we were very happy with this quick bite to eat.

Our family went to the Fish House after a local recommendation and loved it! We didn't have much time before boarding our cruise ship and it was the perfect quick stop. We sat down with a great view overlooking the water. The smoked salmon chowder was AMAZING! We also ordered a few rounds of fish & chips for the table. I would go back!

My halibut and chips was overcooked and really small portion for $17. Cole slaw tasted like vinegar. My husband's burger was small (a lot of bun). Nice location right by the cruise ship dock, but well worth a short walk to other restaurants. To be fair, the crab meals looked good.

Smoked Salmon chowder was the bomb and the cornbread was pretty darn good. Must admit was not expecting much since it is so close to the cruise docks but was very pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was not the most attentive but nice view and good food made up for it.
