My sister is very interested in Native American art. We learned the history and meaning of the totems. We were able to discuss them with Native Americans, which made it more interesting. Highly recommended.

The tour started with a video of the native people of Alaska but kind of fizzled out after that. We were to look at their artwork which consisted of about 5 pieces and then take a 50 yard nature walk before going to the ceremony house. There the native people and children performed a dance and chant or two. There was very little to it and really poor dialogue and interpretation about what we were seeing. I think it could have been much better if they developed it more.

This was an included tour with our Viking Cruise
Our guide was interesting
We enjoyed hearing the stories that went with the totems and also learning about the native culture
We were a little disappointed that everything seems so new and has been constructed to teach about native culture. It felt simulated, We had expected it to be older and more of a real, inhabited space

Still we learned a lot and it was worth seeing

Found this by chance after visiting Totem Bight. Its through the woods to the left as you come out of Totem Bight. It has a gift shop selling lots of local crafts and soft drinks as well as free coffee. we strolled through the park and a guide asked us to join his group, it was good to get a local prospective on native culture

We spent about 1 1/2 hours here. It was interesting with various totem poles and wooden houses where the indiginous people lived , with individual totem poles outside their property to warn off strangers.
You could easily get around in less than an hour though.
