Drive up yourself. This is a very inspiring place. You can feel the spirituality in the chapel and surrounding forest lands. If you enjoy meditation this place is amazing:).

What a peaceful, mystical, lovely spot... especially with the golden glow of lights shining forth from the windows of the old stone church, sheltered by huge, ancient conifers. There were other trails we wish we could have walked... and would have, except for the fact that it was starting to rain so hard... but another time we hope to check out the rest of this peaceful place.

Such serene and beautiful surroundings. All the cabins and lodges can be rented and the peace and quiet is amazing along with the views. Boats, whales swimming by, eagles everywhere! Amazing.

We visited the Shrine about 20 years ago and wanted to visited it again this time because we always remembered the beauty of the Island. How things have changed and not for the good. I don't believe in organized religion but I always remembered how peaceful this place was and now, they raised the pathway, built outbuildings, and have an abortion sign on the Island. To our family it was ruined and we will not return. The abortion sign was what got me, I looked at the Island like it was for anyone and everyone, but now they had to bring in politics and the Island is not for everyone. Sad.

A beautiful wooded setting on a spectacular lake...the shrine itself was small but had wonderful acoustics.
