Made a quick stop here while our cruise ship was in Juneau because of all the good reviews. The crab cakes are delicious and definitely live up to the hype.

After having an appetizer and beer at another establishment we headed here for lunch. Head out back toward the cruise ships. OK , I am not a seafood junkie and the prices were not cheap but really enjoyed the food we had. The Mrs. and I had crab cakes and our friends had crab rolls. It was not crowded when we got here and we had a chance to talk to our server . Note this is outside dining so hopefully you get good weather. Also, seating is limited so I would suggest avoiding the noon hour if possible. There is a decent selection of beers but that is not the reason to come here.

While the weather was cold and misty, the food was hot! Seating is outside but there are some heaters if you are patient. We ordered and paid at one "shack" and then found a seat and our food was delivered. The crab cakes were the best we have had and we just got back from Cape Cod. I had to go back and get a mug of locally brewed draft root beer. Perfect lunch before a three hour hike in the mountains.

This is the place I found in Juneau to have King Crab Legs. They are really meaty, thicker than my thumb actually. They sell a 3 lbs bucket for 99 bucks. But the best deal they have is the Combo and that includes one 15 inch leg, four crab cakes, and a 12 oz. crab bisque for 32 dollars.
they are not a formal restaurant, in fact there are two kiosks you could call shacks and a big tent wit several dining tables, but they get packed with big cruise ship tourists. The place is pretty clean and good service.

We were told of this place by several people on our cruise ship, and saw it rated #1 on Tripadvisor. All that did in our eyes was put pressure on Tracy's to perform, and perform they did! The first thing we noticed is it lived up to its name, Tracy's Crab Shack.....it is a shack, not a restaurant. The seating is outside, protected from the weather, on pick nick style tables and benches. We liked the seating arraignment as it gave us the opportunity to meet and talk with new people....loved it! The crab was perfect, with several options available to choose from. We were warned about the expense, however the cost was very reasonable, considering what was served. Alaskan King Crab can be hard to find and very pricy when available....$24 for a leg is reasonable, and the combo meal at $32 was a perfect lunch for the two of us.

Don't go to Tracy's if you are looking for a nice sit down restaurant, but if you are looking for a great Juneau experience, coupled with great crab....this is the place! The people working there are very polite and helpful and you won't find better King Crab. Highly recommend a visit!
