Part of our Carnival Cruise took us here to the opaque bluish-green waters of Tracy Arm Fjord. We saw a lot of wildlife here, glaciers and icebergs floating in the water. This was one of our favorite parts of our trip.

If you have a chance to visit Tracy Arm Fjord and the Sawyer glaciers, don't pass it up! Allen Marine Tours is the best company to go with. It can get quite chilly at the glacier face so wear a warm layer. Calving is pretty frequent so have that camera ready!

Coming from the Upper Midwest, where the average altitudes are in the 800 to 1200 ft above of sea level and temperatures fluctuate from 0°F in the winter to 90°F in the summer, we don't have glaciers, seals, or mountains. So needless to say, it was aw-inspiring to see Tracy Arm.

Tips:
-Wear appropriate clothing. It's much cooler in near the glacier than on the sea.
-Charge that battery. Make sure your camera battery is full charged, you are going to need it.
-Look for seals relaxing on small icebergs.
-Wear sunscreen. A lot of reflective surfaces can burn your skin in the summer. (just ask my fair skinned wife :) )

Cruising into Tracy Arm Fjord was amazing. Never traveling west of Alabama, this was a whole new experience for us. Everything was truly breathtaking, from the beauty of the mountains, to the gorgeous shades of green in the waters. When we arrived at the Glacier, we saw the deep blues in the ice. Start saving your pennies, because Alaska is a place you MUST see!!!
