Our group of 10 went on the Tracy Arm excursion and had a great experience. Captain Steve and crew gave us a close up of an iceberg that had just rolled over an hour prior to us coming upon it. Amazing sight. Then when we got to Sawyer Glacier the sun popped out, the ice field parted where we could get up close to watch an amazing show of ice calving. Spectacular event with sound and show. Unlike the previous post we were able to get up close to watch. The seals were a bonus. Thanks again Captain Steve.

We took an excursion off the Celebrity Solstice last week into the Tracy Arm Fjord. Everything was spectacular. On the way in to the South Sawyer Glacier, we saw seals floating on the ice chunks. Once we approached the South Sawyer Glacier, we saw the falls to the right amidst the ice flow. While videotaping the glacier, we were able to capture a calving...how spectacular. We then went to the North Sawyer Glacier and saw more seals. The ice at both glaciers are so blue. When leaving the glaciers, we saw four mountain goats feeding on the mountainside, one bear high up on the mountainside, and a pod of transient orca whales, spouting and gliding through the pretty green water. The snow capped peaks were spectacular as well. We were so glad we decided to join this excursion.

This particular "excursion" was the most expensive thing my husband and I did while we were in Juneau for 1 week. All the locals told us we HAD to see Tracy Arm- they were right. It was amazing! Ice Bergs falling right off of Glaciers, seals, sea lions, beautiful views. A MUST SEE if you are in Juneau

I was very disappointed. There were many small icebergs but we were not able to get very close to the glacier. Glacier Bay is much more spectacular with glaciers and ice walls.

Cruising through the fjord was like navigating through a glass of ice cubes. Breathtaking beauty was everywhere as we traversed through icebergs big and small.

The glacier was incredible. It was calving pieces of ice the size of a house and the crashing sound was louder than anything we have ever heard.

This is a must see area when in Alaska.
