We stopped in for some beer before our glacier flight tour.

ATMOSPHERE:
The bar/restaurant is located on the pier near the floatplanes and is part of the Merchant's Wharf Mall. The interior is a plain space with no decor, with bar and table seating. The bar area opens to the outdoor seating area with big garage door-style windows and creates an airy feeling. The outdoor seating area has nice views of the harbor area and ocean. There's a parked food truck-like stand which wasn't open but signage started to order food through the bartender. They offer a bunch of seafood apps, chowder, sandwiches, crab boil, and ribs.

BEVERAGE:
Alaskan white - This has become my new favorite beer on this trip. It's tastes similar to Blue Moon but better.

SERVICE:
Nothing noteworthy. I don't expect much from a mostly seasonal touristy establishment and I was right.

OVERALL:
Head into the town area and find something there to eat.

What a cool place to sit and have a beer & some snacks. Great view of float planes taking off & landing every few minutes. The bartender was very friendly & talkative. The owner & his wife were all around making sure everyone was having a good time. Great bar food!

The Flight Deck sits on a wharf overlooking Juneau harbor. Float plans go in and out like giant water bugs. Huge cruise ships are docked just yards away. Plenty of harbor activity make this one of the prime spots in all of Juneau. You can eat out on the deck, or inside if the weather doesn't cooperate. Find a table and order from a trailer/kitchen on the wharf I have family in Juneau, so I have been to the Flight Deck numerous times. It is a must stop for our family. This last trip, in August, found the food disappointing. The two bright spots were the french fries, as always and the fried halibut fish and chips, fresh and delicious. The chowder, once a rich and flavorful red broth with big chunks of fish has been reduced to something pink and creamy with big chunks of potato and little sign of fish. The portions were small, with little difference between a large bread bowl and a small. One of our party ordered the Thai Chicken Salad. It turned out to be a pasta salad on some greens with two (2) small chunks of chicken. Halibut salad on a twist roll couldn't have been more uninspired. The beer was great; the view unparalleled; the company, priceless. Go for the fish and chips.

Saw this place while walking around Juneau after a cruise shore excursion. It was crowded so I figured it must be good....it was! Fortunately, it was a sunny, warm day so I was able to enjoy my fish and chips outside. Fish batter was crispy and not too greasy or spicy. Matchstick style chips, a.k.a. French fries were tender and not too salty. Service wasn't speedy, but with 3 cruise ships in port, they were pretty slammed. The staff was very friendly.

We went here at the end of the Bike and Brew Glacier tour offered by our cruise ship. There was a long bar take reserved for the group when we arrived. Other than that table, there is not much other seating than the bar. We tasted several of the beers offers at the bar, then ordered some more after the tour was over. We also ordered some food, I had the fish tacos which where better than I expected. I typically am not a fan of fried fish in taco, but this was very tasty. The service was decent and the view was excellent. There were planes landing/taking off right outside this bar. We spent about an hour there and enjoyed the time we had.
