“Crab!”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

Wanted to go to Tracy's Crab Shack, but the cruise people in front of us took so long to decided we left and slipped into here. So very glad we did. Had the crab and fries. It was so good we went back a second time. I just devoured the crab and the fries were some of the best I've ever eaten.
We sat outside and watched the float planes come in. It seemed there were a lot of locals eating there, as well...that in itself is a good sign.

“Standard pub fare, maybe with a view”
Reviewed August 29, 2014 via mobile

The food is nothing special -- very standard pub food with an emphasis on seafood, of course -- and the service is unenthusiastic, to say the least.

The environment is cold and loud and if you get a table in the bar area, you won't get a view of the harbor; the bar backs against the windows and the tables are too low to see out.

The Hangar's popularity must be due to its proximity to the cruise terminal and nothing more.

“Watch the Float Planes Land”
Reviewed August 27, 2014

This was a great restaurant! There seafood was superb, like always in Alaska, though the thing that set this place apart was the amazing views of float planes landing the water right outside the window!

“Flyin' high in Juneau!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014 via mobile

The bus driver on our tour to Mendenhall Glacier recommended The Hangar. He said lots of locals love the place, so we thought we give it a try. What a find! The food was really good, reasonably priced, and the waitstaff were very helpful. Not only delivered our order quickly during a rather busy lunch hour, but they also answered some questions about local things to see in Juneau.

There's lots of interesting aviation history connected with The Hangar. Numerous displays about aviation history which go back to the early days. If you're in Juneau, this place is a must!

“Good Fish and Chips”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

We stopped off here for lunch after a trip up to Mendenhall Glacier, someone had suggested the Halibut fish and chips, so decided to try it. We enjoyed our meal, but also enjoyed watching the sea float planes that give tourists rides up to the glacier. They take off and land right along side the restaurant. The service was quick and the servers were good.
