We've been to the Red Dog several times over the past twenty years, and it never really seems to change. There are minor interior modifications but it is basically always a fun place to go for lunch. The interior is very funky/Western and dusty. If you're coming off a cruise ship, your best bet is to go directly there as fast as possible. Otherwise, you'll have to wait in a line outside which may be slightly unpleasant if the weather isn't good.
The food is decent lunch fare--good chowder, caesar salad, burgers and bratwurst. Those are the dishes that the 4 of us chose.
I'm not sure of the schedule when the piano/keyboard player is there. He was there when we were there for lunch in August, and he played a nice set. One of us is a professional piano player who does exactly what this guy does, so that is actually a good recommendation on the entertainment.
