We booked this thru our NCL cruise and were not disappointed. From the dock there was a half hour bus ride to the marina. The boat was extremely clean as were the bathrooms. There were binoculars provided which were invaluable. We saw a pod of humpback whales which included a baby whale who breached while we were watching. There was a naturalist on board who provided tons of information about the area and the whales. The captain and the naturalist were both raised in the area and were extremely nice and informative. It was fun for the whole family from grandparents to kids.

We took this tour as an excursion on a NCL cruise. The people were very friendly and the boat was very clean. They were able to find a pod of Orka Whales feeding and got close enough for excellent pictures. Then they went to where they had been told there were some Humpback Whales. We found a group of Humpbacks that had joined together to do bubble net fishing. We were able to watch them for quite a while and saw them feeding and breaching. The guides were quite knowledgable and we had a great time. Would recomend it to anyone.

We had a very good experience on this trip, it seemed long getting out to our destination, but it paid off in the long run, saw lots of orca's in there pods, along the side of the boat, everyone running up to the top for pic's, We live in Texas and have Seaworld, this was something to take notice. It is nice to see whales in nature and not in a big fish tank, not knocking sea world, but this was very nice experience. They shut off the motor and we enjoyed spending times admiring all the small orcas and the humpback mama and her calf, slapping her arms about and the baby trying to do like mom, imagine a 35 ton whale slapping and jumping about in front of you, nice..... We saw some eagles, harbor seals grunting about on the shoreline, then more orcas, it was a wonderful day in the Tongrass National Forest.
Good price and a great time!

Our excursion with Whale Watching & Wildlife Tours was an excursion through our NCL cruise. I think it was fairly priced when you look at the cost of other excursions. I, along with many people, have a very high expectation of any sort of excursion ... but we all must remember that on excursions that include nature ... nature has absolutely no schedule, script or reason. Orcas in the wild don't perform like Shamu, seals don't sit on rocks waving with their flippers, humpback whales don't breach on command and bald eagles won't fly and land on a crew members arm.

With that in mind ...

We DID have a once in a lifetime experience! Captain Zack was an incredible young captain, knowledgeable of the area and of the animals that reside there. The rest of the crew were courteous and knowledgeable also. Captain Zack got a report of a pod of Orca nearby, so we went to investigate ... we found at least 12 Orca including 2 babies!!! What a display of wildlife ... and they seemed as curious of the boats as we were of them ... swimming close to the boats in the area, spy bobbing, and staying in the same area (not just swimming by). We ended up having to leave them to stay on our schedule. Captain Zack was even taking photos ... so it was definitely a rare occurence! This was a memory that will be imprinted in my mind forever since my SD card went corrupt shortly after seeing the Orcas and I lost hundreds of photos (all of the ones from this particular excursion)! :(

On the way back to the dock, we encountered a Humpback whale quite close to the boat; saw a few whale spouts in the distance; and got to see a few Bald Eagles, including one that flew right over the boat at a short distance. The captain was good at pointing out direction as to where to look and it's easy to get from one side of the boat to the other if need be. The company's brochure is also nice, well-designed and full of information!

The scenery along the way was also very beautiful! This is definitely an excursion I'll take again if I ever get the chance to return to Juneau!

The tour was enjoyable - but a little long and a little 'canned' . We did see whales but nothing like in their brochure. We saw the same thing from our balcony on our cruise ship and actually got better pictures from the ship. Would not do this again especially for the price we paid.
