A very enjoyable experience. Before you go on the course they explain what makes a great sled dog and how they are trained. It is amazing to watch how the dogs work with the musher to pull the sled. My favorite part was after the ride we got to hold some puppies. A great trip for all ages.

My friend and I had a great experience on this excursion. The bus ride to the camp was lovely. The camp itself was fabulous. The dogs are so excited to see everyone and to pull the land-based "sled." This is a summer camp so there is no snow but the dogs love to pull and to run. The handlers were friendly and gave lots of interesting information. Best part was playing with the puppies.

in September, we booked a tour of the dog sled summer camp. we really wanted to do the excursion by helicopter to have a sled dog ride on the snow. this was not available the time we were there , so we settled for the summer camp, and i am so glad we did. It was quite an eye opener-sled dogs are not huskies or malumutes, they are bred for endurarance, and until you see them harnessed up and pulling the sled, they do not look very special. the mushers (people who own and train the dogs) are so devoted, and actually live throughout the summer with their dogs, breeding and training them. most of them eventually want to enter the Idarod (famous 1,000 mile dog sled race in Alaska. Sadly while we were there it rained, but we still really enjoyed the experience, and we got to nurse some of the puppies. I would recommend this excursion.

We really enjoyed this tour. The dogs get so excited when they are being hooked up to the cart. They leap in the air and the excited barking was amazing. They love their jobs. We were pulled in the cart around the area and it was a fun and different experience. We held the puppies and they were just adorable. Our guide, Matthew, told us about the Iditarod races and it was very interesting. Definitely would recommend this experience.

booked through cruise. did the morning time. met by a friendly member of staff. the drive up lots of information given. first thing was a sled ride- don't sit at the front if it has been raining!!! the ride was way too short but still amazing and dogs were lovely nice mixture! next was a talk about various long distance dog sled races. then onto the puppies saw slightly older ones which like chewing things and then 9 day old puppies that were soo adorable! even though expensive worth it just for the experience!
