This tour was offered on our Celebrity Cruise/Tour. It was by far one of the best tours and we had a ball. But of course we have two Border Collies so we love dogs! The tour was very well arranged and our driver was super with a great ride to the site with lots of information. We did have a great eagle camera shot waiting to dive down and get some fish. One never knows when U will see an eagle, moose, raven, or even a bear when in route to a destination in Alaska, that is for sure.
From the time we entered the camp we could hear the dogs barking like crazy and were told by our guide they were very excited to see us was the reason for their barking. Heck I was barking at them since I was just as excited! From the time we got off the shuttle every minute was a learning experience and fun. Our guide there was excellent, very friendly and you sure could tell she loves her dogs. My wife & brother-in-law that were on the tour with me thought the dogs would be much bigger. For their size they sure can pull and they really enjoy doing it as much we enjoying watching them. They are very friendly and do not mind being patted. The other very interesting note was the few commands that have to be given for them to stop, go left or right. Well trained for sure. Then it was time to visit with the puppies & boy did we enjoy that. My wife wanted to put one in her purse and take it home. It was hard to put them down since they were so loving. The attached picture is my brother in law with one of the puppies. It is his new FB picture! If U have kids this may be one of the happiest times for sure. The drinks provided were excellent and the swinging bridge was a really treat to relax and enjoy the camp even more. I highly recommend this tour if offered on your ship. It is worth every penny and a once in a life time experience while visiting the Last Frontier!

Booked this tour independently of the cruise line and so glad we did. We got off the ship (a party of 11) and the van to the camp was waiting for us. Earl, our driver, gave a great tour for the 20 minute ride up to the camp. The scenery was beautiful. At the camp we all enjoyed learning some history of the races, meeting the dogs, taking a sled ride and then meeting the puppies. It was a fantastic tour with fantastic guides. Would definitely recommend it to all.

This was a fun time and we would go again. The hospitality was awesome and it was cool to see preconcieved notions corrected. Like thinking the dogs were all siberian huskies. They were mixed breeds focused on endurance and they hardly broke a sweat pulling over 1000 lbs. Interacting with the puppies was fun. I wished we had a longer ride. A must do in Alaska.

Loved learning some of the history and experiencing a dog sled (al beit without the negative temps since it was summer time). The bus driver was friendly and pointed out interesting places along the way. The musher with us was so knowledgeable and you could feel her passion for the dogs. You have to absolutely love dogs to do that for a living.

This excursion was the highlight of our trip to Juneau. My children loved playing with the dogs and the sled ride was exhilarating! These dogs are amazing athletes and the caretakers clearly adore them and take great care of them. After pulling the heavy sled, we met the dogs and then the puppies. All of our hearts melted! Great tour!
