I have been drinking Alaskan beer for years so I couldn't wait to see this place. The tour was great, the guide was awesome as he showed us the humble origins of this state treasure but by far my favorite was the tasters of experimental and standard beers that they kept in constant supply throughout the entire visit. It was so good we went twice during our weekend stay in town. Love this place, we will return.

I was in the store downtown and glad I went to visit the brewery. Great people running it and now they have a new follower of their beers. Love the IPA, Amber and Stout

Great beer & friendly people. They have a tasting area. If one wants can stay for a little talk about the Alaskan Brewery Co. They have some great items to sell you. A little hard to find.

Went on the tour via the bus from the downtown shop - thought $15 was a bit steep but the driver did take the long route to explain the few local sites (we had visited them all the day before!)
One hour tour consisted of an opportunity to have up to 6 free beers (small glasses), watch a 10 minute video on the history of the company, see all the awards the brewery had won, spend money in the small gift shop and look through window at the plant - the area you see only does small runs of new beers.
We could also go outside and see the bottling plant - through windows. This wasn't running as there was an annual meeting on that day - not told that at the store when we booked.
Overall not really a tour and could have found better ways to spend an hour in Juneau.

The brewery is a bit out of town but for $15 you can catch the shuttle from the downtown store to the brewery for the tour. Its nice to learn the history of a successful small business but its more about a little free beer and spending time in their tour hall slash gift shop. Interesting way to spend a few rainy hours. Kids would be bored out of their minds.
