“Hike up if you can, ride down for FREE!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

My wife and I did an Alaskan cruise for our 10th wedding anniversary. While in Juneau we hiked up the Mount Roberts Trail to the top of the tram station. It probably took us about 2 hours from the dock to the top. The trailhead is fairly easy to find. The weather was nice, but cool for early June, we didn't get rained on. The trail is steep in spots and not always the easiest to follow. Beautiful though as most of Alaska is. Muddy and then snowy as you gain elevation. Had to follow the trail tape on trees as you get close to the top as the trail was completely covered in snow. You should be in good shape to do this hike, you don't have to be an olympic athlete to do it. When you by $10 worth of stuff in the gift shop you can ride down for free. Well worth the savings, you get some great exercise, and get to see the forest that most people miss.

“to the top of Mt Roberts”

The view during the ride up is exceptional. The restaurant is ok. A high price for Juneau's food with OK quality.

“Views of Juneau”

Take the walk up the path - enjoy great views all the way up - take the tram back down for free - a bit of a climb but worth it - allow about 2 to 3 hours

“Expensive... Sad that this is one of the only real attraction in the ciry..”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

As many pointed out, the ride is very expensive, even considering that this is Alaska. Just a tram that bring you to the top of the mountain, where you can overlook the city and surroundings. Nothing spectacular. I wouldn't regret if I hadn't tried it; it's probably the only option we had in Juneau during our short stop from the Cruise.

Thanks,

“Expensive”

Not worth your time! Rude and not interested in customers, long lines and delays. Would never recommend to anyone. Run by local Native Corporation and it is clear they are after the contents of your wallet!!
